    Replacing the Subs

120 jobs is more likely, based on Brazil's experience with Saab.

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

Or better yet, buy a certain number every year like other nations do to constantly refresh the fleet and counteract attrition.

    Replacing the Subs

200,000 jobs is just as baloney as Saab's 10,000 or 14,000 or whatever they're claiming today. But at least they're proposing more than a single factory for a limited run of one product.

An illegal thing that can result in more charges.

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

And their jobs claim is bullshit. They made the same promises to Brazil, who has a larger aerospace industry than us, Embraer, with more military experience, and they've had barely 300 jobs created. And Saab's global job number is only 26,000. There is no possibility they will create 10,000+...

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

Please explain why special rules should apply to the fighter jets but not any other purchases. You haven't mentioned the Gripen before in this thread.

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

You can at least explain why you think special rules should apply for the fighter jet purchase that clearly do not exist for any other procurement program.

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

Doesn't matter if it's political details. If you want to talk F-35 vs Gripen, that's the proper thread, not this one. In case you weren't aware, we're already buying big ticket items from them, such as: Boeing P-8 Poseiden fleet HIMARS CC-130 modernization Possible Blackhawk purchase to...

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

The Gripen is a terrible choice for Canada. See the fighter jet replacement thread for more information, I'd rather not derail this thread rehashing the same arguments. https://army.ca/forums/threads/the-rcafs-next-generation-fighter-cf-188-replacement.120786/

Maybe they can offload them on the Marines for use as Marine 1.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

And NDHQ was originally Nortel corporate headquarters. Supposedly, over 4,000 wiretaps were found after DND bought the property.

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

I've visited USS Massachusetts in Battleship Cove and it's impressive, too. And has the distinction of firing the first and last 16" shells of any American battleship in the war, and had zero casualties.

    Replacing the Subs

VW owns Porsche. And Bentley. And Bugatti. And Lamborghini. The VW Tuareg (not available in North America) is rebadged as the Audi A7/A8, Porsche Cayenne, Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentaygo (I'm almost surprised they haven't slapped a Bugatti badge on it yet).
