    18 Aug 2025: Poilievre/By-election in Battle River–Crowfoot (AB)

I'm actually surprised that the Liberals are running a canadate, by tradition there are not supposed to contest this election.

Israeli strikes on Iran (2024, 2025, etc.)

Can't be that difficult, the holes should be at least as large as a womp rat.

Israeli strikes on Iran (2024, 2025, etc.)

I don't think that there should be any Western troops on the ground, western bombs, well......

    G7 Kananaskis 2025

By final warning measures, does that mean that they would have shot it down if it didn't comply?

Israeli strikes on Iran (2024, 2025, etc.)

I wouldn't be too upset if a few Canadian bombs accidentally fell on Iranian territory.

    Updated Army Service Dress project

To be fair, it's going to be a lot cheaper to change the Scottish regiments over to the new uniform, it's a jacket shirt and tie.

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

Can we make Canada Post part of the CAF in order to stop them from striking all the time? I mean, they already use logistic unicorps.

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

Search and Rescue is a function of emergency preparedness/ emergency management. Emergency Management is conducted by every level of government, but not every level of government has search and rescue.

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

I guess we should also ask, why isn't the Coast Guard already part of the CAF. Given the size of our coastline, they should at the very least have a secondary military role either as a separate branch, or as a sub-commpont of the Navy.

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

So if I understand this correctly, the CCG (maybe RCCG soon), is going to be part of DND, but not part of the CAF, so therefore not liable to the CSD?

The vibe shift, end of "wokeness"?

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/money/general/pride-toronto-loses-corporate-sponsorships-ahead-of-festival/vi-AA1FWwRv?ocid=BingNewsVerp Seems to be pretty consistent with what is going on elsewhere. In reality, it would likely have needed to be scaled down significantly for next year, as the City...

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

Makes me wish that I was in the line of succession for a house. I'm surprised that we haven't started looking at multigenerational mortgages. I had someone make a comment to me that we should start building war houses again. It's a great idea, but it would never fly with the developers, if they...

Feed children instead of training them for war

So, a bit off topic, but I thought of this though the other day. Do we know how many former cadets join the CAF (not including CIC) each year?

    Boots on the ground

I've been staff on multiple BMQ's where they weren't given ruck sacs. They used a small pack/duffle bag combination to move stuff around. Some of them even went out and bought surplus ones. At one point we didn't even have sleeping bags to give them, they were even taking sleeping bags away...

    Boots on the ground

Your standards are pretty high if you think that recruits are getting ruck sacks.
