The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Add replacements for the Snowbirds and it may look like 30 Gripen 2 seaters E max? Definitely not in any way an F35 replacement but potentially a very good Hawk and Tutor replacement.

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

Which would be cheaper, a new build Corvette or outfitting the AOPS with appropriate radar, ESSM, and a bigger gun? If the AOPS were "properly" outfitted wouldn't that reduce the number of Corvettes Topshee is asking for?

That's definitely from the Bombardier playbook. Whether Saab follows that playbook or has it's own is yet to be seen.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

I prefer to think that we, and much of the rest of America's allies, are increasingly growing tired of dealing with little Donny's spastic tantrums. The F35 is undoubtedly the best platform. However there are limits to being disrespected and threatened. Be it financial or political there's...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Maybe so but this shift sits squarely in the lap of the present US administration which has become unreliable and maybe even threatening as a partner. Canada will not be the only nation who will divest itself of ties to the US military industrial complex. Be careful of where you point your...

    Replacing the Subs

Because the owners of that technology have sway over how it is used and deployed. Spend the time and money to co-develop with South Korea and tell the other guy to go pound sand.

    Replacing the Subs

I would surmise the Trump Government has increasingly cashed in it's Influence chips around the world. If the technology developed is not "made in America" and is proprietary to South Korea and Canada then it's not for the US to say if it can be built and used.

    Replacing the Subs

As an edit to my previous post I should mention that a Slowpoke reactor likely doesn't have the output for a conventional nuclear powered drive but could be used to charge batteries in a type of nuclear / AIP combination thus extending the time it is able to stay submerged. I am by no means an...

    Replacing the Subs

It may be conceivable that Canada and South Korea cooperate in the development and construction of a nuclear power plant for a Sub. Both countries have very advanced nuclear programs and already cooperate in the field on numerous things. Canada already developed the Slowpoke which although is...

    Canada's tanks

It'd still not in production despite the contracts with Hungary, Italy, and Ukraine. Until they have some coming off the line, wherever that may be, I tend to consider it a paper tank. I'm not dismissing it as a potential future procurement but actual production lines would legitimize it.
