No bull****. I was one of the people who had to sadly load all our blanks back into the truck to be shipped off. We have an extremely high fire index in BC right now.

Just got back from my SQ a few days ago, we didn‘t even get blanks because of the fire index. We pretty much just yelled "BANG! BANG BANG!"

A bit of an update on the goretex thing. I was just talking to a warrant officer about course and he told me to get up to the clothing stores to pick up a pair of regular boots. Not sure what kind they are but at least I won‘t have to use the hot goretex ones on summer course.

Hello, I find the goretex boots do feel quite large, but I‘ve gotten used to them. Also, what‘s the policy on wearing them outside of army time? I would of thought someone would get throughtly bitched out if they got caught wearing their boots to a paintball game.

Hello, In my unit we train every thursday evening and I think one weekend a month. It‘s probably about the same everywhere else.

What is common issue for the infantry now? I got two pairs of goretex boots and at parade night I wore them and was told to wait until the fall/winter to wear them to which I told that I only was issued goretex. A few people were quite suprised. Is this irregular or the kit that‘s issued now?

Hello, I‘ve done hours and hours of reading about the Canadian army and it‘s operations, just on this forum alone. What I have a hard time finding is information on the individual soldiers life.

Where does the United States stand on all this? Surely if they can afford to send 250,000 troops to Iraq they wouldn‘t have any problem sending 500 or so to the Congo?
