Exactly!
Gandhi and Mandela shamed their captors because they stood up for their beliefs, took the pain and grabbed the moral high ground. Then there's this clown... :crybaby:
Ummm...
Wouldn't the heroic thing have been to stay, make your case and deal with the consequences? Instead we get this posturing phony trying to recycle himself into "a guy who ran away because it was the right thing to do".
Hi Folks
On a personal note I really appreciate the efforts of the DS to keep things focussed and tight. I've seen other sites quickly go downhill once the trolls showed up.
The thing that always annoys me is that this is not a "news item", so the Star will claim that it has no duty to check the claims made for accuracy, rather it is an "opinion". which reflects the writer's personal take on events. Sadly I don't imagine doing a mea culpa is high on Siddiqui's list...
Jack has gotta play to his audience :boring:
I saw the press conference with the Sheehan lady and whatever folks are putting her out in public to make their point should be ashamed of themselves, :(
Agree on all three Government moves.
On the flag issue: I heard O'Connor explain the rationale behind the decision and it makes sense.
On Trenton: The media have the opportunity to cover the ceremonies in Afghanistan and the funeral
so I don't believe there's a need...
Check out a book called "Bast*ard Sons", by Bernd Horn. He traces the history of Canadian Airbone units and the reasons/lack of reasons for the unit over the years. The main point is that there was a lot of ambiguity over what exactly the Airborne was expected to do, at various times, over the...
Hmmm... I gotta work on my sarcastic comment skills ;D
I'm only passing on what their "families and friends" are, apparently, claiming. I'd imagine looking down the wrong end of a gun barrel would encourage a few regrets on one's "lifestyle choices" :o
ciao
The real tragedy, IMHO, is that most of the dead guys were, apparently, in the process of turning their lives around and getting away from the whole biker/criminal/ thug thing and becoming solid members of society when this happened. I'm always amazed how that happens :'(
Typical.
The so-called "Women In Black" made absolutely no effort to determine if the claims being made are even correct. We seem to be living increasingly in a world where simply being loud and pushy trumps the ability to make a thoughful argument. Hopefully the fact that the WIB don't...
Hi Guys
I've read Christie's columns for years and she is the real deal. Apparently the flavour of the day is to be "balanced", ie, you get a quote from a Canadian soldier, then you quote the Taliban so as to offer a balanced view of the issue. Right! I'd love to see one of our writers...
Hi Guys!
If you get a chance check out their website. They have an interview with a guy named Jim Butters (sp) I apologise if I got his name wrong. He does a great job of speaking on your behalf. The host, Roy Green, is one of the coolest guys going.
ciao

Hi Guys
If you have the oppotunity listen to 900 CHML, out of Hamilton, Ontario. The host is Roy Green. Sort of a tribute. Sorry, no moredetails; I want to listen :D
I was just thinking of the logistics of putting several hundred troops on a ship and having them spend, potentially, a couple of weeks getting to anywhere. Would it be reasonable to fly most of them to an allied nation in the region, then mate them with the ship when it reaches the area? By...
This may have been raised elsewhere. How necessary is it to have a large troop carrying capacity aboard ship? I guess I'm wondering if the more likely plan would be to airlift the bulk of troops fairly near to the destination, then hook them up with the ships for a short period of time. This...
Hi Guys
Don't know if anyone has raised this yet but the "HUmane Society of the United States" has absolutely nothing to do with yourlocal, or any, animal shelter. It is a very large, very wealthy organization with a very hardcore "animal rights" agenda. Do a google for "Humane Society of...
Mayor Mel had quite a flair for the dramatic. I was a bit surprised the military went along though. Are they legally required to abide by a request for assistance or is there room for discussion?
There's a considerable difference between having the ability to do something and considering it a goal; strictly speaking most police officers have the ability to use deadly force, however it'd be pretty hard to claim they work at it. The good news is that Gilbert's term is over so the...
