Not sure about your specific situation but I know all the guys here (Borden) have PMQ's and moved their family's.  We will be at this base about 14 months and it was all ok here.

Its usually fairly hard to get ahold of recruiting centres anywhere.  I always just walked in if I wanted to get an update during my process.  Its harder for them to ignore you in person.  They are very busy and if their with a person in the office they won't pick up the phone 99% of the time.
