Navy to potentially create training ships on great lakes

That’s the one I was referring to. It is replacing the ARUN class and is about 15’ longer than the CAPE class.

Navy to potentially create training ships on great lakes

I keep coming back to the CCG Bay class. But, i don’t believe it has any berths for longer duration missions.

Navy to potentially create training ships on great lakes

Yes, that’s actually the class I meant to reference, rather than the Capes. I believe they’re predominantly made at Hike and Forillon and so shouldn’t be a drag on any of the big boys to try and fit into their build schedules. Can you speak to their seakeeping in big water, like North Atlantic...

Navy to potentially create training ships on great lakes

I had a question regarding possible vessels for this proposal. Would there be any sense in using the same 47’ Cape Class Life Boat as the CCG, at least on the lakes/Seaway, or is that too small for the role?

St John’s or Goose Bay possibly?

I think the problem there again would be speed. They make about 8 kts less than what Topshee says they’re looking for.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

If this pointless bastard hadn’t thrown so much fuel on the fire, it’s unlikely there would be any doubt as to the F 35 purchase. His mouthy, counterintuitive “diplomacy” has made it politically and practically unpalatable for a large percentage of Canadians to keep buying American kit. If I...

    Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels (MCDVs)

That would at least give the main weapon an air burst capability and a higher max elevation to engage drones.

    Trump administration 2024-2028

Could be there’s been a response from elected officials who’ve been answering a tonne of questions in the time between the first airing and the meltdown. If true, the ads have worked.

    Trump administration 2024-2028

Yep. Had a passable, but nothing special breakfast at an IHOP in Savannah last year. For four people it set me back over $90 USD. The server was a sweet kid so we left a big tip, which was part of that total, though. I have to say she seemed pretty overwhelmed that she got what she did, which...

    Trump administration 2024-2028

Short story…Taking a family vacay to Florida a few years back. We always bring food and picnic at rest stops along the way. Got a bunch of fresh stuff at our local Walmart, including a triple sized container of cherry tomatoes, for $5.99. Crazy good deal. Got to the border and declared...

    Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ship AOPS

That would definitely explain her reaction. The Captain was having a pretty solid laugh when I brought it up.

    Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ship AOPS

The reason I asked the Captain and the Cox’n was because it had “Cox’n” embroidered into the fabric on the back of it. As I mentioned, I’ve never seen that before and was curious, but their reaction when I brought it up was almost like an inside joke.

    Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ship AOPS

Got an opportunity to spend a little time with HMCS MARGARET BROOKE this afternoon in Toronto. Welcoming crew, informative officers and a nice chat with the Captain and the Cox’n made for an awesome visit to see these useful and impressive vessels. I noticed the Cox’n had his own chair on the...

Would it not make the most sense to use the same set up from AOPS?

    Replacing the Subs

Just as a note, the Danes do not currently operate subs in their Navy, though there has recently been some discussion about either procuring some new boats or strengthening ties with those that do. This doesn’t change your point that the Baltic could already be crowded with subsurface friendlies.

I would also suggest that the 4 “light” icebreakers of the current MEMTV (RISLEY/GREY/BARTLETT/LAMARSH) should be counted And their round American women??
