Upped the ante for youTake it one step further, most drugs and illegal guns in Canada come through the States. Would the Americans be cool if we started killing their citizens for the same rationale?

Or Canada shooting down a US airliner and claiming there was cocaine on board?
There is no Canadian precedent even close to the type of kinetic action that the US has taken in the latest escalation of the "war on drugs", not even during the Turbot War.Take it one step further, most drugs and illegal guns in Canada come through the States. A small gaggle of paranoid, politicians and their enraptured followers have decided that to uplift themselves, they need to paint everyone else who isn't them - including many of their own countrymen - as an enemy.

Jesus, I remember when you’d be lucky to get $500 for that same steer…700lb steers are selling for an average of 3800.00 at the yard. The North American cow herd is at its lowest since the 1950’s.
Purebred animals are even pricier. A recent sale in Saskatchewan had heifer calves selling for an average of $12,000.00 (helped along by five heifers selling for an average of $40,000.00.
Maybe all of those soy farmers should have kept the cows around vice living the winter high life of a Arizona trailer park?
Bred cows are at monster price right now and many an old cattlemen are cashing out. This bubble is going to burst soon because there is no way a young cattleman can grow their herd at these prices. Also feeders cannot make a buck and the processors have so cornered the slaughter market that they are paying the feeders peanuts.Jesus, I remember when you’d be lucky to get $500 for that same steer…

Meanwhile the cost of beef at the store keep going up. Something gotta give.
24 Sussex would like a word.I find it very odd that that kind of massive and costly kind of renovation to the White House can just be done on the presidents say so without any kind of oversight from other stakeholders such as Congress or the GAO I believe its called or some other oversight body.

Maybe we could get the US to bomb some of those sites while they're at it.

I was at a Walmart in rural Pennsylvania last weekend to watch my daughters university soccer game. The price at that Walmart for ribeye steaks (not Angus) was 25.62$ US/lb, which is 56.34$ USD/kg with no currency conversion. Just checking my local Fortinos (owned by Loblaws) where I live and ribeye steaks are 57.30$ CAD/kg. Hamburger (lean) was pretty much the same, dollar for dollar. The cost of chicken at that Walmart, 3.97$ US/lb for boneless, skinless breasts, which is 8.74$ USD/kg. My Fortinos has it for 13.21$ CAD/kg - the US is about a 1$ CAD.kg cheaper.Been a long while since I bought steak even at walmart.
Gone are the days of deals in the USA. Double whammy is their stuff is usually of alower quality than ours.I was at a Walmart in rural Pennsylvania last weekend to watch my daughters university soccer game. I did see Avocados for .77 cents USD or about 1.10 CAD. Now that's a baragin!Gone are the days of deals in the USA. Double whammy is their stuff is usually of alower quality than ours.
Short story…Taking a family vacay to Florida a few years back. We always bring food and picnic at rest stops along the way. Got a bunch of fresh stuff at our local Walmart, including a triple sized container of cherry tomatoes, for $5.99. Crazy good deal. Got to the border and declared everything. Thought I’d checked what was all allowed and it turns out tomatoes weren’t, so they were disposed of. I hit the Walmart in Watertown to replace my tomatoes and found they had the tiny packages (from the same producer, in California BTW) for the same price. So, they were charging $5.99 USD for the same product at a third of the size. That was when I started noticing how much more expensive provisioning had become in the USA compared to my previous experiences.Gone are the days of deals in the USA. It’s it and miss on the pricing.Short story…Taking a family vacay to Florida a few years back. We always bring food and picnic at rest stops along the way. Yep. Had a passable, but nothing special breakfast at an IHOP in Savannah last year. For four people it set me back over $90 USD. The server was a sweet kid so we left a big tip, which was part of that total, though. I have to say she seemed pretty overwhelmed that she got what she did, which was what I considered fair for her service. It’s it and miss on the pricing.
Stopped at the last rest stop on the I90 going east outside of Buffalo on the Sunday. I wasn’t hungry but my wife got a Chic Fil A meal - so chicken on a bun, waffle fries and a medium Diet Coke - 17.25 USD - unreal.
EDIT: Min wage in Pennsylvania, where we were coming back from visiting my daughter at University, is 7.85$/hr. For restaurant/bar servers. 2.89$/hr!!
