    Army Reserve Restructuring

Skill issue, as the young troops would call it. Again, we don't have that issue in my area. Half a dozen reserve units in the area and none of them have a release backlog of more than a handful who are more than a couple months removed from the date they handed in their memo.

    Army Reserve Restructuring

This is not an issue we seem to have down in my area. From letter to release, its consistently about 8-12 months, and most of that is the waiting periods between letter sent out, chance for them to come in, etc.

    Army Reserve Restructuring

There is a capability to compel service. The same as any other reservist. A member of the MRes, who applies, and is enrolled, then completes modules of training to bring them to a point where they can be employed during a crisis is more than just a list. What do you mean by this? There is no...

    Army Reserve Restructuring

I don't really get your gripe with the system. it's basically the Individual Ready Reserve system the americans use, but instead of for all trades, its for specific technical trades where a civilian can basically walk into the job with their existing quals.

    Army Reserve Restructuring

The new Directorate General of Mobilization has some PowerPoints available on their SharePoint for members of the CAF to peruse. One of the concepts they are moving forward with is a new sub-component of the PRes, similar in function to the SuppRes. This new component, which has not been given...

    Updated Army Service Dress project

This shouldn't happen, as according to the PPTs, there will be no mixing. Gabardines as an item will also no longer be part of an individuals scale of issue. They will be held at depots for use in ceremonial events. The DEU rainjacket is already gone, can't order it from logistik anymore, and...

Fair enough, one more year of mint green for me is the more accurate statement.

Q4 of 2026 is general issue and rollout. One more year of mint green.

    Updated Army Service Dress project

Everyone, no. The Vimy Star was introduced in 2017. In 2023, we reverted to the bath star. There is no supply system catching up or using all the old stock first, or anything like that. I was able to order Vimy Stars from logistik from the day I enrolled, until sometime in 2023. Since then, all...

    Updated Army Service Dress project

Yea, I know. But the new service dress is scheduled for issue in Q4 2026, so, troops in my unit will be without any DEU/Service Dress for another year and a half.

    Updated Army Service Dress project

Practical reason? Doesn't exist. But I am a soldier, and I like the parts of my uniform that tell people I'm a soldier and not a generic CAF member. I would like more aspects of my uniform to tell people I am a soldier. One of the reasons I like the new Service dress is that it is so clearly an...

    Updated Army Service Dress project

They did this, with the Vimy star a few years back, replaced the 3 crowns at the centre of the pip with a maple leaf. called it the Vimy Star, as opposed to the Bath Star. Then quietly reversed it. I still have a bunch in a box at home.

No. "Ceremonial and Service dress (No1 and No3). Former CAF members are not permitted to wear ceremonial or service dress uniforms after release without specific authority."

It's on sharepoint. Just search 'Service dress'. Everything I have said I have gotten from sharepoint, either direct from Regimental polls and slide decks, or DLR 5-4 sldie decks.

    Updated Army Service Dress project

The standard will be the army blue beret. Corps/regiments may choose to wear a different colour beret, for example the RCR polled its guys and they had to decide between blue or khaki. The full colour forage cap will be for each individual regiment and corps to decide if they will wear it. At...

    Updated Army Service Dress project

While I don't know if NDHQ or other similar offices will go back to No. 3/3B, the army DEU shortage is real. At my unit we just went through the process of sizing new troops at clothing stores for DEUs. We were told there is no expected delivery date, as logistik is not manufacturing any army...

    Army Reserve Restructuring

APS 26 according to the draft CAMO and MiD. The CCA selected what was termed as the "lightswitch COA", where the current divs all switch at APS 26, and then between APS 26 and APS 28 the brigades and units switch so that they are reporting to who they need to under the new structure.

Informing the Army’s Future Structure - CAMO Discussion

Theres a slide-deck on Sharepoint that discusses the different COAs, and some of the points for maintaining 10 CBGs was that it was the path of least resistance, there is a strong desire to keep the CBG Comds AOR within an 8 hour drive end to end, and to maintain ARes Col positions that actually...

Informing the Army’s Future Structure - CAMO Discussion

This is incorrect. The Continental Division is 10 CBGs, and a Canadian Ranger Brigade, reporting directly to Div. They got rid of Area HQs during COA selection as it added an unnecessary level of bureaucracy.
