It may be a requirement on paper but is it an actual requirement for the CAF? Is there a use case for AH's in the defence of Canada? Is deploying an Aviation Brigade in support of NATO the optimal use of that funding and PY's?

I'm good with this I question if the CAF really needs an Attack Helicopter. I view them as a "nice to have" but there are MANY capabilities that I'd choose to fund before spending any money on AH's.

At the very least massing troops at the border with the mere threat of invasion would force Ukraine to significantly redeploy its forces to face the potential threat. Kyiv is less than 150km by road from the border. Less troops in the East might allow Russia to make additional advances there.

Defence sometimes requires keeping the bad guys away from your borders. Waiting until the enemy is at the base of your castle walls isn't always a great strategy.

I'm surprised they haven't started counting Russians that have been repatriated from Ukraine...in body bags.

PP is a known quantity with a known political persona. If he were to suddenly change his manner drastically it would not be perceived as being genuine. The only real solution is to replace PP with someone who's persona actually matches the requirements of the time.

While that may be true it also may indicate that there are a number of fieldcraft lessons regarding dispersion, deception and camouflage that need to be (re)learned. It also probably indicates how woefully NATO armies are behind in deployed EW (both offensive and defensive), C-UAS and AD...
