That one hour in the air doesn't include the pain and suffering of getting on and off the plane that will add at least two hours to your travel time. I'm assuming that getting on the train was pretty painless (how was the security checks of your luggage?)

Why can we not have both?

Plane travel is such a PIA. Hour and a half to two hours before takeoff, stuck in an accordion of a seat, waiting to take off, can’t move very much during a flight, wait to get off the plane, wait for your luggage, etc. Just think what could have been if we hadn’t gone all in with the car...
