    ME VS. OUTCAP

You will remain in your current trade until you get a message or letter from Ottawa stating that you have been accepted into the new trade.  It that message it will state where you are to go to and when.    For example, lets say you are a cook in Victoria who want to OT to RMS Clerk.  One of...

    ME VS. OUTCAP

To put it in the simplest terms.  If the losing CM says yes and the gain CM says yes then you will be officially notified that your OT has been accepted and you will then be given instruction on what to do next.  If either CM says no then you will be officially notified that your OT has been...

    Weekend travel vs Annual Leave

When I was at 405 in Greenwood, the aircrew would get days off prior to and after a mission to rest.  Those days where never counted against their annual.  So it was not uncommon back when you could accumulate for an aircrew guy to have well over a thousand days accumulated leave on the books.

iTunes radio.  Nothing but the 80's.  Think it is an Aussie station.

    Weekend travel vs Annual Leave

They are right.  Technically speaking there is no such thing as CTO.  It's original use came into being when dealing with shift workers.  Because their work week could be, for example, 4 days on 4 days off.  The days off were considered their weekend even if they didn't fall on a Saturday or...

    Weekend travel vs Annual Leave

True enough George.  If the member gives enough advanced notice of his intent then the cost of the ticket between the two days, in this case,  should be none or very little.  Having said that if the ticket was already booked then there would be a change fee involved.  Which the member would have...

    Weekend travel vs Annual Leave

There is no regulation to cover this scenario.  Once the member returns the clerk will finalize the claim with Sunday being the travel day.  The claim will also show that Friday and Saturday were "leave days" thus giving the member $0.00 for those two days.  In the end the dollar amount would be...

    Lost Travel Claims

Easy enough for your OR to re-print the claim.  However, if you have lost any receipts, ie taxis, parking, and such, then you will need to do up a stat dec, in order to claim those expenses.  Oh, and it wouldn't hurt to talk very nicely to the clerks when you tell them you lost the claim.  :)

    2009 Reg-Res Pay Rates - Published

After reading the previous post I have to chuckle.  Every Jan 15th numerous people will come to the OR complaining that their take home pay has dropped.  They have forgotten that EI deductions have started again.  What I find humors is that they never come to see us when their pay goes up in the...

Why Clerks go grey at a young age!

The following story is true.  Only names have been changed to protect the brain dead. I am the Chief Clerk at a reserve unit.  Recently one of my officer did a self ID for a tour overseas.  One of the things he had to do was a medical questionnaire that was 6 pages in length.  The first two...

    2009 Reg-Res Pay Rates - Published

No. We are not getting the new rate yet.  We will see it sometime between now and April next year.  Same thing happened with the 2006 pay increase.  It was announced and published in the summer/fall of 06, retro to April of 06 but didn't show up in the back until Apr 07.

    2009 Reg-Res Pay Rates - Published

These rates have been published.  However, no word as to when we will actually see it in our accounts. My best guess would be October, but having said that, the last one we got didn't show up until April of the following year...

Component Transfer ( CT ) - Reserve to Regular

I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on TV.  But it will depend totally on the severity of the injury and what trade you are applying for when you CT.  Your med docs will be reviewed during the CT process.  So the decision will be made by the MO as to your medial suitability for the trade you...
