In my opinion all of the slaver states should be overthrown and relegated to the dustbin of history. UAE and Saudi are evil regimes and in a just world theyd be sanctioned to high heaven. Theyre vile and we should wash our hands of them in any way possible.
Im with you on that 100%. I currently live in Winnipeg but resided most of my life on a farm NE of the city and will return when I can afford it - I will prpbably never benefit from this but I can see the utilitarian good for a very large percentage of my fellow countrymen. Its not a "fuck you I...
Public transit doesnt stop at the train station. Only in North America could we be so car-brained that the default assumption is that the HSR station will be either in the middle of nowhere and unserved by local transit or surrounded by a sea of parking lots so deep one dare not cross it to...
400 new troops in 38 CBG would be absolutely gamechanging. I have no idea why the brigade doesnt try and spread the very successful Thunder Bay coop program brigade wide.
Cant see the economic opportunity beyond the political colours. If it uplifts GDP by even half of what has been projected its a win in less than a decade but partisanship is partisanship.
You can read the "HSR wont work in Canada" input from here lmao. The density of the corridor in question is about on par with the Madrid region...sparsely populated area that is. AI slop lol.
You want them to build a railroad in a month? This is moving pretty quick under this government. It was only officially sanctioned by the government after the election.
Oh Im well aware of the convenience. Ive holidayed in Europe a half dozen times or so - Ive never once rented a car. The train is superior in every way for short to medium dostance travel.
Nevermind the added benefit of stepping off the train downtown instead of some far flung sub/exurb that takes an extra hour off your time calculation too.
HSR is a slam dunk in the golden horseshoe - Montreal, probably really nice in the Edm - Cal corridor too. This is the actual productuve...
All the other reservists and I had to report 6 months ahead for Op Reassurance, however some of us had courses to do prior, like ACSV gunnery for me for example.
Even more important is a pool of instructors able to train that third, fourth, etc wave. If the old ways are deficient and outdated but there is still some wisdom in the force generation potential of a reserve force in a protracted war.
Just like you dont have 3-4 months in modern aerial warfare, we dont have that luxury today in modern LSCOs. Frankly if the rates of attrition are anything like the Ukraine war, we'll need those dudes in weeks, not months. We still need a reserve that is in reserve.
As long as the Regs are ok deploying every 6 months when there is no more reserve force to draw upon since we sunsetted 60% of the trades in the ARes/NavRes/whatever. Very little need for Arty, Armour, Bosns, etc in the defence of Canada, whatever that means. Probably lots of sandbag battalions...
