True enough.  I remember being told the dates we had to be sleeves or or sleeves down and then it became a rule that sleeves were down all the time.  That RSM moved on and it sort of became unofficial that sleeves down was what infanteers did, field or garrison.

Personally, and no offence to anyone I hope, but I've always considered rolled up sleeves a practice best left to support trades and reservists. ;)

I honestly (naively) didn't think there were any units out there that actually enforced issued boots.  If and when I find myself confronted with this, there will be problems.  The issue boots (all of them) are crap and don't work for me, end of story.  My feet are my livelihood and I will not...

I'll give that a try but it sounds like I'll be spamming myself as it looks like I'll have atleast a dozen calendar events in a week.  Looking at my email client at home (windows live) it is quite weak and probably wouldn't have much ability to work with Outlook anyway.  Maybe it's time to...

I'm guessing having one's Outlook on the DIN syncing with something like a Windows Live or Gmail account is impossible but what is the easiest way to export my Outlook calendar so I can add it to and update my calendar at home? Export it as a .pst file? Thanks

I forgot to mention the dudes, and the non-infantry, non-combat ones get me the most but they are no more/less guilty, that think that because they are in the Army they can outshoot and outfight anyone, including cops.

I guess "operations" was the wrong word.  Operational deployments? I don't know the world of the RCAF, but it might seem unusual to me to serve under a commander with no overseas deployments/comds in a dynamic shooting/peacekeeping operation.  (ie. Somlia, the Gulf, Bosnia, Iraq, Crotia...

Those bunch of clowns, from all account it seems, ARE a bunch of clowns.  The kind of idiots that make my blood boil. However, they sound like about 1/2 the Cpls and Ptes I know.  Sure, some of them have put in a little effort but too many just want to "play" soldier. (Maybe 1/2 is pushing it)...

I suppose operational experience isn't a factor for selection at that level?
