    Improved Combat Uniform

I tried those wraps... once. They now keep my ridgerest neatly rolled up.

    Improved Combat Uniform

Wow, what a whinefest in here. Circulation problems?  Please. I've rarely (let alone "every second") had a bloused pant come undone, and that's through all kinds of terrain.  No issues with kneepads either and I always wear a knee pad.  Same goes for running.  Never thought to myself "Man, if...

The brown Temperate Combat Boot (AKA: Mk IV Cbt Boot) - No longer CADPAT

We had a bottle of CLP get caught in the ramp of LAV and explode on the desert boots of few guys.  They looked pretty damn close to this brown. ;)

    Installing Speed Lacing on boots?

I always just assumed I could get my alottment of 5 x t-shirts yearly like underwear and socks?  I guess not but I make sure to go in atleast once a year and never have a problem getting all these items.  I thought it used to be 6 months before they bumped it up to 1 year?

Is this the CSOR Command Badge?

Definitely Meaford (although it seems they have painted over the RCR colours that circled the gym).  I would think the rest of your assumption is correct.

Keeping wounded in CF - merged super-thread

"Ottawa headquarters is full of “fat plugs” who aren’t physically fit " It's definitely not limited to NDHQ.  People are starting to get sick and tired of these fat plugs everywhere that seem to find themselves constantly on a chit for one thing or another.

Vet hunger striking at VAC HQ

Exactly. If all of that IS true, you won't see much sympathy coming from my direction.  People need to take some personal responsibility in managing their own affairs.

    Cmbt CADPAT shirts

As much as you can clarrify... So we're "looking into" these shirts or these shirts (as described) will be in the system and issued out shortly? Usually when I hear the Army is "looking into" something, I assume I'll see it in a decade or so (in a less than ideal form).

Different Unit's policies on non-issued chest rigs

Indeed.  Especially since the "experts" have come up with such outstanding kit in the last few years and have issued it out so seamlessly.

Purchasable Equivalent to CF Arid/Desert Sock

That's a pretty sweet deal.  I've never seen them under $10.99 (for the All-Terrain Hikers).

Also a similar product at MEC: http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442593503&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302885935

Purchasable Equivalent to CF Arid/Desert Sock

Oh, and as to the original post, I found the Wigwams to be basically an "equivilant" to the issue tan sock.  When I had a limited rotation of wigwams I would wear the issue tan socks and it is pretty much the same fit and feel, just better.

    Snugpak Ionoshpere Personal Tent/Hooch

They've been selling these at the 1 RCR kit shop for a little while and they are becoming quite popular. However, despite being a kit slut, I'm reluctant to drop the $260 they're asking for it as I'm kinda burnt out on spending tons of $ on kit that serves little purpose outside of work.  Plus...

Purchasable Equivalent to CF Arid/Desert Sock

I'm a huge fan of Wigwam socks.  I found them far superior to the issue tan sock in every way.  You pay for what you get however. I've tried several different models (they have a huge range... kinda confusing) but I now stick with the All-terrain Hikers in tan.  Usually around $12-15 a pair. I...

    Themacell-anti mosquito device.

Lebarons does not carry the compact unit.  I should've bought the re-fills there while I had the chance though.  The compact unit (it is the same as the one you linked too, not the one on the CT website) and the large pack of refills cost me nearly $70 at CT.  I swallowed it though... we'll see...

    Pace Stick and Sword?

Granted, I'm a newbie, but I've NEVER seen such a practice and most people don't even seem to recall it.  Times have changed.  People can think what they want of the Regiment, there is a fair amount of forward thinking going on nowadays but when it comes to the parade square we can still step up...

You can go out into the Pet training area lately without running in packs of ATVs, mostly being ridden by a particular unit.
