There are a few guidlines regarding promotions in the PRes. Best check with the unit you are applying to.  BMOQA is 11 weeks long.

Agree, but when one joins the CF there is an understanding that one may , one day, be in harms way but I get your point.

I must admit I have never understood the awarding of CD to CIC officers.  Training is not same as reg force and PRes folks nor or they to put themselves in harms way...

Hello, if you’re referring to the Army Reserve as an officer you would do BMQ with the NCM’s, BMOQ part 2 then most likely BMOQ Army then your specific officer training. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can confirm that BMOQA/CAP mostly sort outs some of the fitness and ‘fit to lead’ issues. There appears to be no issue with failing and/or ‘r ecoursing’candidates. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you want to go the officer route go ahead as long as you can complete the training. 50yo+ folks have joined, completed BMQ BMOQ 2, BMOQA and their specific officer training. This is longer than the NCM route but if you're physically and mentally fit enough, and career/family support is there...
