I'll answer your questions up front and then add in a few points based on the full post to help give you a full picture. Up front I am a SigOp and not Infantry but have been in CA units for my entire career so I have a good big picture overview of both.
1. Although postings are being...
And we're locking this up for a bit so everyone can just cool down and I don't have to apply a warning. This conversation is getting so far away from the discussion at hand and more targeting someone personally which is completely offside.

I said no such thing. I said their previous cushy deployments with lots of port calls did not adequately prepare them for the harshness of sustained combat operations. That's a leadership problem inside USN not political and definitely not the sailors. The entire situation is being blown out of...
Yes, that's an exceptional circumstance. Expecting a port call every 30 days has created a culture to expect that during combat operations. It's not realistic and it's a symptom of a peacetime deployment structure.
I don't have a ton of sympathy for folks having to eat rations a few days...
They used drones to make up for the lack of a navy. Both sides are using them on land because they have a lack of maneuver ability. You're just arguing to argue.
Nope, but a monthly marksmanship range along with the annual PWT builds and actual skill. Rifle marksmanship and practice is always something you wish you had more of when you're on a 2 way range. Thinking that nurses or HRAs could never possibly have to discharge their weapon says to me we...
Or after years of soft, cushy deployments, the ship crews are completely unprepared for major combat operations and the hardship that comes with them which is a USN leadership not political problem. Expecting 0 mental health issues on a 9 month deployment shows me the folks that have never...
How to tell me you have no idea how LSCO or Army operations work without telling me you have no idea how those things work.
Drones and cyber are enablers for hard sea, land and air power. On their own they are absolutely useless novelty items.
This is simply just a replacement for vehicle headsets. RA108 (green ones) are end of life and Invisio bought Racal Acoustics. We're still badly deficient in tactical headsets for dismounted troops.
Just be mindful that as a Sig O or CELE, you will do very little software developing or managing of software developers. It is a very small subset of the trade tasks.
You're joining an organization where you can be ordered into a situation where you may die and thats perfectly legal.
If you want to be in that situation for money, then go be a mercenary somewhere because you'll make way more money than the CAF.
The folks that join for the money never last and are disliked by their peers and superiors before they finally quit after their attitude stops their promotions. Stay a civilian.
MWO is fine (or Sir). If you know theyre a Sergeant Major you can use that or SSM/CSM. Saying the full rank out is saved for when folks are in trouble or parades.
One of us is a SigOp with decades of experience both in Canada and deployed and the other is a CyberOp that until last year wanted to delete their account due to security reason and now mentions their security clearance casually in posts and has less than 4 minutes years in the CAF and C&E...
Cleaned the politics crap out. Shame on those that took the bait but absolutely know better. You can quote a post and move that quote to the right area.

No, a lot of the equipment we use is military off the shelf and has no civilian equivalent. At best you'd be PLAR for parts of a course which is generally meaningless as they'll make you complete them with the remainder of your course anyways.
Don't rush your training. Its a fraction of what...
