    Hamas invaded Israel 2023 Megathread

AI response to "How many hardcore settlers are there" Israeli intelligence, defense, and human rights organizations estimate that there is a core group of several hundred to a few thousand highly radicalized, ideologically driven extremists within the broader Israeli settler population. [1]...

EV's, Gas/Oil, and The Future- another swerve split from- JT Hints Boosting Canada’s Military Spending

My friend loves his Rivian, but knows he really does not want to get into an accident as the cost of repairing one from a rear hit is astronomical.

    Eritrea Invades Ethiopia

Apparently the ex-commander of the Tigray forces that fought the government forces previously and was respected as competent commander opposes the rebel attacks on government forces. Even some of the 7 supposed groups opposing the government were a unaware that they were supposed to be providing...

EV's, Gas/Oil, and The Future- another swerve split from- JT Hints Boosting Canada’s Military Spending

Keeping in mind that here is Canada you get money from the governments for buying one and you are not paying road tax in a EV and less in a Hybrid. Now I like to see the incentives gone as there is no longer any need to support the switch and EV's in particular need to contribute to the road tax...

    Quebec Election

Very much it seems this is the case for Quebec, the Conservatives did well, now have full party status, the ruling party is shattered and exiled for their sins. A very typical Canadian election. I suspect the campaigning strategy of the ruling party was tone deaf to the realities facing them...

    A Deeply Fractured World

Funny enough under existing Canadian law, we could have a much stronger and consistent CCW program than you would find in the US. Several firearm groups attempted to get the training requirement for an "Authorization to Carry, for defense against threats" But the CFO's refused to provide it as...

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

At work today and looking at steel and modules destined for the Polar Class 2, you can really see the thickness and judging by the welds, likley a high tensile and nickel content steel. Sadly I can't take pictures but it is impressive to see firsthand and know I am see history being made.
