CIC branch buttons for army CIC officers ... what do you think?

This is my arguement Master Corporal. CIC officers should be recognised as CIC officers, and should be proud and honoured by this heritage. There was a time in the past were CIC officer wore what they could find, however that was before that they were permitted to have the new green (at the...

CIC branch buttons for army CIC officers ... what do you think?

I am sorry for the mistake, and I made the modification to my original message Mr. Taylor (and this explains how come someone was a officer for many years, and became a private ... it did not seem right). Well, that is all. Have a nice day!

CIC branch buttons for army CIC officers ... what do you think?

Good morning! I read the comments of Capt "Primer" and I wanted to say the following to him... With all due respect sir or ma'am, I had an idea that could have maybe let army CIC officers have something new for themselves. From what I've read in my CIC officer history book, it said (more of...

    traditions in your cadet corps

Here are the list of traditions found at 223 RCSCC Longueuil: 1) The ship's bell - Every Sea Cadet unit must have a bell representing their unit, just like every HMC Ship. 2) The Brass Gunner's Chain - This is worn by the Coxs'n of our unit. This is passed down from chief to chief and their...

CIC branch buttons for army CIC officers ... what do you think?

As for the CIC history book that I mentioned, it is called Par devouement and it is offered in the Eastern Region's RCIS and I believe that it is in French only. The CIC cap badge did not come into existance until 1975 (if I am not mistaken) and before then, CIC officers would wear any...

CIC branch buttons for army CIC officers ... what do you think?

Not in so may words ... however, I do believe that it is a great service that is offered by Joe Drouin Enterprises, and I think that it could not hurt anyone really to take a look. They do have some great stuff. As for army CIC officers wearing affiliated unit accoutrements, this was a...

CIC branch buttons for army CIC officers ... what do you think?

I've seen that people are equally interested and not interested by this proposition. I would like to read your reasons please. Thank you kindly and good day!  ;)

CIC branch buttons for army CIC officers ... what do you think?

:) Good evening everyone! I know that I am not an army CIC officer, and therefore am not in the best position to have a recommendation for them, however, I would think that the army CIC officers should follow their traditions from their element, and have a set of CIC branch brass buttons for...

    Best Marches

As a student of history, I stand corrected, and I am sorry that I forgot about the Vikings. However, I did not really want to talk about Newfoundland in my earlier quote because it did not really join Canada until 1949. However, the first people here were the First Nations, and they are still...

    Best Marches

Even though I do like the music of The Maple Leaf Forever, it is quite insulting to French Canadians. It did not even give any lip service to the French that were the first Canadians of European descent. My two cents!

Martin government is poised to enshrine the army as Canada's pre-eminent militar

Hi everybody! I would believe that in a perfect world, the CDS would fair to all elements of the Canadian Forces. The CDS is the head of all the Canadian Forces, and not just the element that he or she comes from (and makes the rest suffer). Let's hope that the future General Hillier will be...

Martin government is poised to enshrine the army as Canada's pre-eminent militar

Good afternoon. We actually had a discussion about the subject of the senior service on the Cadet-World Forum, and here are the links so that you may view them. http://www.cadet-world.com/cwforums/showthread.php?t=5879 http://www.cadet-world.com/cwforums/showthread.php?t=5878 Good day!

    Dog Tags

Actually, I came back to change my statement ... I did do the same as a cadet myself - buy a pair of dogtags. I did not want to be rude however, and I am asking pardon if it seemed like it. As for cross and other jewlery, from my knowledge of the cadet uniform, no, they are not permitted to...

    Dog Tags

One question for you warrant officer, do you really need a pair of dogtags. You would not be permitted to wear it in uniform because it was not issued, therefore your only us for them would be to wear them in civies.

    Lieutenant Pronunciation

Actually, the subject was mentioned on the CBC programme The Canadian Experience, within the topic, Talking Canadian. I personnaly learned a lot from this episode.

    CAF or CF

I did not read the whole thread before I placed my post ... therefore, my post was quite useless seeing that better information was written before I wrote what I wrote.

    CAF or CF

I don't know if anyone wrote it down, however CAF did stand for the Canadian Air Force, before it became the Royal Canadian Air Force. When Canada first created its Air Force, it was called the Canadian Air Force, and later became the RCAF.

    Quick Navy Tradition question...

Well, what about in French. The short form for a Lieutenant Commander (capitaine de corvette), Commander (capitaine de frégate) and Captain(N) (capitaine de vaisseau) are all the same.... capitaine.

    The current navy uniform

Personnally, I guess that I like the 8 botton uniform better, therefore, here would be my next recommendation ... just to add in two extra bottons. I think that this uniform actually looks sharper that the one that we have today. My two cents.

    The current navy uniform

Hi everybody I have this to say about the naval tunic ... I wish that we could go back to the 8 botton jacket. We look like a) American naval officers, or b) Non-commissioned members. I think that Canada is the only Commonwealth country that has the same uniform for all its naval members. ...
