    The Modern Warrior’s Combat Load

I don't know if you've seen them, but the special order sleeping bags follow that system. The outer bag is made for +5°, the inner bag is for -40°, and then put them together and they're rated to -50°. They both compress MUCH better then the old sleeping bags, and come with built in hoods...

    Head Shaving/BMQ (merged)

Not to mention there's a few people out there like myself and my buddy Kovacs, that if we shaved our head shorter than #1, we'd have stripes on our heads because of folds on our scalps ;)

    CPGear Tac-Vest Hydration Harness

If you were to get a good bladder (Camelbak, Source, etc..) you won't crush it, BUT it won't be comfortable with the rucksack on (rucksack will rock side to side while moving). If you've got the 82 Pattern ruck, you can always take the bladder out and stash it in the lid when you wear the ruck.

    Bergen or not to Bergen..

Really? I had an S95 bergen a couple years back that had these crappy buckles on the shoulder straps that slipped together and always popped apart when I tried to loosen off the straps... Maybe it was just mine.

    Bergen or not to Bergen..

One thing I didn't like about the bergen was the quick-release buckles on the shoulder straps, I found they'd often release if I wanted to loosen off the straps.

    C9 short barrel with BFA

I used the short barrel and BFA last year when I played OPFOR for guys going overseas. The only thing I noticed was the barrel heated up quicker than a longer barrel.

    Bergen or not to Bergen..

The bergen is pretty much the grand daddy to most modern internal packs (or atleast the ground breaker), two aluminum stays and basic harness. If you can swing it, I'd recommend going with something from Mystery Ranch or Kifaru, much more comfortable, plus they're usually MOLLE exterior for...

    Name Tapes

IIRC, any Navy pers that have been authorized to wear CADPAT, will wear the olive drab slip-on with black embroidery, and likewise the olive drab nametape with black embroidery (name and anchor). The only time a black and gold nametape is worn, is in NCD's. NOW! I don't know if the new NCD's...
