    Replacing the Subs

Much like the TV show Undercover Boss, many times on that show CEO's saw how the company really works and used that intel to make positive changes. Many pledged to be more in touch with the workers going forward. I realize its TV and dramatized but there were real insights gained.

Self Defence in Canada (split from Gun Control 2.0)

I saw this the other day, What are your guys thoughts on it? Not allowed for self defense in Canada but it looks like it may be useful for a LEO.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Hydraulic tanks need to be vented, I don't know how they accomplish that on aircraft but Its possible the vent failed and let water in from outside. Whether from flying in wet weather or another source.

    Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels (MCDVs)

I know I'm just a simple civilian but wouldn't some sort of sealift capacity be a fairly high priority to the CAF as a whole? I realize that the Navy thinks about what the navy wants, and the Navy likely doesn't think sealift is a priority. To be clear I mean something like a merchant marine...

The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

Thank you for making me/us aware of their services. I agree with the membership and I bought it. When i read your post and went to the site i was confused at first thinking I was getting a legal defense insurance. After reading more clearly I realized what the legal services bundle is and I...

Self Defence in Canada (split from Gun Control 2.0)

Just for clarity the legal services bundle requires you be a member for $40/year + $25/year for the legal bundle. The legal services you get for your $25/month is a phone call with a lawyer to answer a question. It is not Legal defense insurance.

    Canada's tanks

I love that logic and it ill work well for them. The IFV and other variants will also have room to grow. However I imagine The bean counters view will say those other variants will be a waste of money because they are overbuilt. I.E. If you are buying 1000 units of witch 100 are the heavier...

    Canada's tanks

I remember seeing a documentary once about building in the arctic, they needed special steel for the buildings to take the cold. The narrator claimed the steel used down here would be too brittle at -50 and the buildings would collapse.

    Canada's tanks

Interesting, most hydraulic systems run anytime the engine is running and create heat. Idling must not create enough heat in the units you are working with. There are heat exchangers designed for just such a purpose however space is likely an issue. The coolant lines through the reservoir is a...

Then you just don't shut it off. Ever. if you do then tow it into a shop. That's why a lot of Caterpillar engines are designed to check the oil while the engine is running.

    Replacing the Subs

I think this is a little dated because Lee Jae-myung is SK's president and by everything I have seen he is very pro-China. It does not take long to find allegations of Chinese election interference on his behalf. A post from December by Lei's Real Talk outlining China's influence in South...

    Replacing the Subs

"If it looks, sounds and tastes too good to be true - It is!" With Chinese influence in SK growing and a pro-China president recently elected SK subs are highly likely to be a Trojan horse for China into NATO. SK is offering so much to get this deal it looks suspicious.

Personally I throw those Allen keys out and use my own. Most often they are soft steel and strip easily. I don't want them to accidently get into my regular stock.

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

I am a Heavy truck mechanic and I have considered joining the reserves because I like military equipment and I would enjoy working on it. Then I looked at the reserve pay scale and its a long way down until I see daily pay that comes close to what I could make at a shop around here. I am a...

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

Is there any chance we will get sealift capacity out of this new spending plan? Would it count toward NATO spending to partner with a cargo operator to fund a couple ships to be called up on short notice to provide sealift? I know the Oilers are supposed to handle some of the sealift but...

    Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ship AOPS

At the time I was working with a welding inspector who was teaching classes at Holland College. He claimed there was a lot of buzz around it. Holland college was planning more welding courses and there was hope the East Isle shipyard would get module work like it did before. Irving still owned...

    Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ship AOPS

When the NSS was first announced there was talk of Irving using the Georgetown PEI yard to make subassemblies. Apparently the province bought the yard, I'm not sure if they did anything with it.
