    Misrepresentation as a Soldier

Okay, two things: First, I did a search. Read a bit of info but there's not too much on this situation in particular (if it's out there, I'd appreciate some links.) Second, this is being posted on behalf of a friend of mine, regarding a mutual friend. We'll call him Man A and Woman B. Man A was...

    Int to CSIS?

    Hmm. Makes sense.

    Int to CSIS?

I realize this is a very old post, however there's something here that I don't think anyone has mentioned. Enlisted members of the US military have the option of going directly into Intelligence. After an 8-12-week Intelligence School (depending on branch) they get their first posting. If the...

    Walts, posers & wannabes (merged)

I was acquainted with the term "walt" when, a couple months ago, it was discovered that someone had misappropriated the image of a fallen Canadian Soldier as his own, and was claiming to be a member of JTF-2. I wouldn't use the word anywhere outside of a military forum, lest I be met with...

The Spam and Scam Superthread- Merged

If they had the English facility to find this place, they'd have the English facility to clean up their scams.

    Walts, posers & wannabes (merged)

To make a long story short, I was in a chat room when I mentioned the Forces. Another user happened to correct me on something (I used the term MOC to refer to the job I wanted, he said it was NOC) and then proceeded to tell me he was a CWO. Now, this struck me as odd because this was a chat...

The Spam and Scam Superthread- Merged

There seems to be some miscommunication; I was trying to make a play on words about the fact that it appears you've misspelled  "web site" in your email (whether intentional or not), by writing "wed site" instead.

The Spam and Scam Superthread- Merged

Has anybody tried sending a forged $300 cheque for "processing of your winnings", and asking the scammers to mail you back the $50?

"The Hurt Locker" new feature film on EOD/bomb squad GIs in Iraq

I would be wary of even PMing the information. In the legal world (as far as I understand), any communication between your computer and the Milnet.ca servers (posting and PMing being the big two) is considered "in the open" and available for scrutiny by lawyers if it were to be met with a court...

Has he got a point, is it worth the hassle?

I presume they print things in 3 languages. On several occasions specialty stores that I go to have imported regular foods (chocolate bars being one of them) from other countries, and they've had 3 or more languages on them. It comes down to being concise.

Terminally ill Libyan bomber in '88 Lockerbie Pan Am bombing to be released

Care to elaborate? He was seen by British doctors in a British prison. No Intelligence Service in the world can fake an X-ray taken by someone else ;)

The CF Principles of Leadership and the Principles of War

Don't be so quick to assume. "Semper Fidelis", was adopted by the USMC in 1883, however it had been used by the British Army as earliest as 1852.

Canadian First Nation soldier dies serving with US Forces

Sorry, I didn't mean any offence by it. Obviously he'll get the respect he deserves...it was more out of not knowing what to say. I'll leave it at RIP next time.

Fixing up the army gives ottawa options

Couldn't the military possibly generate some revenue by selling all the "unserviceable" equipment/vehicles and such to civilians, if they don't already do so? (Assuming there isn't a mountain of red tape to do such a thing.)

Rest in Peace, Corporal. Hopefully he gets the hono(u)rable burial and respect he deserves.
