    Medical Condition and Geographic Factor

Going back and reading it again, there's actually a mistake in their conclusion as they linked me to the wrong diagnosis. Basically, they noted I have Condition A which is a byproduct of something that was suspected in early reports that I submitted but later refuted, and is far more terrible...

    Medical Condition and Geographic Factor

It wasn't clear if it was due to the inherent risk associated with the condition or the need for follow-up/monitoring, or a combination of both.

    Medical Condition and Geographic Factor

Bad news, got a letter stating I fail the universality of service requirement. Not sure if it's due to the need for follow-up or the nature of the condition, but this is likely a tough one to get past. Time for a call to the med tech =/

GERD - hearburn ppi prescription? pass or fail?

All I can offer is anecdotal evidence - I take nexium (similar), and the med tech didn't seem overly concerned by it when we were going through the checklist. I am not through my medicals but that delay is unrelated to the nexium use.

    Medical Condition and Geographic Factor

I'm just hoping to avoid getting a letter from the RMO saying I'm unfit period, will worry about aircrew factor later. :)

    Medical Condition and Geographic Factor

I was told it would take approx 4-6 weeks for the RMO review to be completed after I submit my info. It's likely going to take me longer than 30 days to get my letters, specialists are tricky to get a hold of and I'm already on cancellation lists to try and get in sooner. Family doctor was easy...

    Medical Condition and Geographic Factor

Blackadder - thanks kindly for your input and experience. I'll consult my physician and provide the letter/reports and not try too hard to sell it by adding extra info that I think is relevant, because factually, no one cares what I think and you make an extremely good point about trying to tell...

    Medical Condition and Geographic Factor

Thanks for the replies. I understand I am not a unique, special nor was I questioning the competency of the folks that review the files or the prescribed medical standards which are there for a good reason. This is a similar question to someone asking about the general application/interview...

    Medical Condition and Geographic Factor

Hi all, I had my medical recently for pilot, and there is an item on my history that got the med tech's attention (bad news). Essentially, I have an increased risk of cancer and should see a doctor once a year, however this condition would take 3-5 years of me not being seen by a doc to even...

Taking wife/kids to live with you for training courses

Great link, thanks. The answer I got today from the RC is that for courses/postings > 6 months, you can get a pmq.

Taking wife/kids to live with you for training courses

Originally posted here http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/106492.0.html but I think the topic is misleading to my question and didn't get replies. I have an interview on Wednesday and would like to get this sorted out before hand if possible to avoid looking like a guy that is going to more of...

    Question about housing once posted

Bumping this rather than starting a new thread. I've read the pilot training can take years to actually get through all of the courses. Are there options to live on/off base with your family (wife + kids) for the duration of the training courses? Some of the courses e.g. 7 months of french...

    Flexibility on ASC dates?

Do you have any flexibility on when you go to CFASC, or are you shooting yourself in the foot if you make this appear to be an inconvenience to "your" schedule? A week off of work is a challenge or borderline impossibility this time of year on short notice. I'm not sure how often CFASC sessions...

waiting time between apptitude test and medical?

4 weeks for me. Wrote the CFAT, and then interview/medical was booked for about a month later. The rationale was that they don't want to waste $ doing medicals the same day on people who bomb the cfat, which makes sense, even though I was told I'd be doing both on the same day (I could have had...

Alleged Institutional Racism/solutions in CAF (merged)

I think there is confusion about promoting diversity to attract a different group of applicants and hiring someone because they are diverse. Recruiting campaigns focused on attracting minorities should inherently result in more minority applicants and more diversity occurring naturally within...

Alleged Institutional Racism/solutions in CAF (merged)

Diversity is a hot topic and something every major organization is trying to effectively manage, to the point of appointing a C-level diversity officer, CDO, (think CEO, CFO, etc.). People, including recruiters/interviewers at any organization, may have a subconscious bias or simply likely...

Canadian Forces Aptitude Test (CFAT) [MERGED]

I'm not sure studying is the right word or what was I was implying. Most math tests require some knowledge of arithmetic operations which aren't necessarily innate. Going through the GED book, there were problem types that I haven't touched in 15 years, so a refresher on how to do them was...

Canadian Forces Aptitude Test (CFAT) [MERGED]

I'm going to politely disagree with some of the comments in here. f you haven't been in high school for 10 years (me) it isn't a piece of cake. I grabbed a couple of GED prep books from the library for the math sections (thanks to advice on these boards) and they helped me out with the math...
