Nothing I could see currently, but there didn't seem to be one for the general election in April ...Does anyone know if the candidates are having a local debate? And if so, will it be televised? Will we see Bonnie Critchley go head to head with Pierre?
I was pissed that we did not have a public debate in our riding. Seem both major parties did not want it.Nothing I could see currently, but there didn't seem to be one for the general election in April ...

I'm thinking these charades need to stop anyhow. Its all yelling and screaming and interrupting each other.I was pissed that we did not have a public debate in our riding. Seem both major parties did not want it.
I find the local debates generally a lot more professional and all the candidates trying to be polite and "part of the community"I'm thinking these charades need to stop anyhow. Its all yelling and screaming and interrupting each other.
Its not "debating" - its childish hogwash.
They're all just parrotting central party talking points; no original thought allowed.I'm thinking these charades need to stop anyhow. Its all yelling and screaming and interrupting each other.

Candidates vying for seat in Alberta byelection featuring Poilievre to debate tonight
CAMROSE - Ten candidates vying to represent Battle River-Crowfoot in the House of Commons are to debate tonight in the riding's largest municipality.www.thecanadianpressnews.ca
Did Poilievre participate in any local debates in his Carlton riding during the general election?
I despise over the top message control. He did not, the majority of, if not all CPC candidates did not attend local debates, there was suggestion it was a party policy
The resultant message was that once elected your CPC candidate will work for the party and not the constituency.I despise over the top message control.

I had a good laugh that Bonnie Critchley asked for a show of hands from the audience of who actually can vote in the by election, and barely anyone raised their hand.I watched the first few minutes of the candidates' forum (on CPAC) but didn't stay much past the introduction of the participants. Suffice to say, Poilievre was the most polished but perhaps that might be a negative; the expression "carpetbagger" comes to mine. I had hoped that a couple of the others would have made a better first impression but wearing a hat in poor lighting is not the way. Maybe later content of argument will override image.
Would be pretty funny if he got a good run in this riding as well. Even if it's a clear win, compared against the 89% or whatever it was the incumbent had before he got booted out won't look good for PP if he doesn't do as well.I had a good laugh that Bonnie Critchley asked for a show of hands from the audience of who actually can vote in the by election, and barely anyone raised their hand.
