It's just politics. It breathes new life into the campaign. It's done all the time. If he's worried, he's not showing it. I don't think that Carney and PP are near as some think.......or hope.

What people would those be, calling conservatives morons?
Quirky made a generalised sweeping statement that Canadian voters are morons a few posts up. My critique was to that ridiculous statement.
But politics shifts according to events. They are shifting.
Most polling is showing the LPC leaderless. I suspect that internal polling with Carney at the head that the polls get closer hence the increased attack ads on him and no one else.
But if conservatives feel safe and sound regardless then there should be no issues or worries and can just ride it out.
I suspect though they are not taking anything for granted. At this point anything short of a majority may not be viewed as a win. They are though still in solid majority territory.

Carney is being seen for what he is. A conman and a carpetbagger. Just another globalist.
I think given enough time that the CPC machine can convince the electorate of that. Which is why I suspect if Carmey wins the leadership, he won’t wait long to call an election.

PP has been in the game long enough to know not to get comfortable. Carney may lead in the liberal internal polling for leader, but he certainly can't claim the lead for having his party elected or him as PM. If Carney wants to take out PP he'll need to change up his game, a lot. Quit giving senseless speeches from the Kamala Harris School of Public Speaking. His public persona is elitist, condescending and not giving straight answers to most questions put to him. He's about near the end of his rope with those qualities. People are noticing.

Carney needs to get detailed about resources, particularly energy (especially O&G) and expedited market diversification, amongst other issues (cough…Chinese influence), or his erudite speaking will wear out. PP is working on his Prime Ministerial mannerisms, and he can’t waste time refining his plan to our soon to be next PM, holding Carney to account for his O&G&CCP intentions is key.

I'm not sure if he can speak about China on much. Certainly not without being questioned about being one of China's biggest private investors. We know what will happen if he talks about pipelines. Brazil, et al will come out. Trade with the US? How does he square his Canadian position after just moving his HQ to New York to take advantage of Trump's largesse and tax breaks? Past performance has seen him completely devastate and destroy Britain's O&G industry. Do we think he'll help ours expand? Wrap trudeau and guibeault into a single entity and you have Carney.

That’s probably a very accurate encapsulation of him. If he doesn’t come out with a plan to address O&G as a necessary major element of Canada’s survival, I think many will cool to him significantly. You can’t work to Net Zero by 2050 (or whenever) if you no longer exist as a nation state…

I'm looking forward to the general election leaders debate. Pierre can debate like a pro. Carney can't. Pierre can think on his feet. Carney can't. Pierre can back his points with factual numbers and proof. Carney can't.
I half expect Carney to dissappear for a couple of weeks before the debate, build a mock studio and get grilled and instructed like Harris did down south. I also expect it will have the same effect.

Careful. They lowered expectations on Trudeau who was in third place and the debate performance he had helped him win that election facing Harper. I recall a lot of that same talk.

I wouldn’t be counting my chickens before they’ve hatched. The Tories have a history of shooting themselves in the foot and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
As for his dodgy green economics, Net Zero, China connections, etc.; they’re only talking about that in the right-wing media universe and the voters the Tories need to win over don’t consume that media.

Of course only the right is talking about it and exposing him for what he is. Talking fact, issues and solutions. You know, realities. Things ordinary honest, hardworking Canadians care about.
The left is brainwashed and will suck up whatever sugar is cast in front of them by an elite globalist messiah. Overlooking and condoning ethics violations, outright fraud, theft of the public purse, laundering taxpayer money to syncophants and despots under the guise of foreign aid and more. I don't want those people in my party anyway. To paraphrase Lt Col Frank Slade "If it were up to me, I'd take a flamethrower to the place."

A lot of negotiations are done behind the closed doors by those that negotiate and know what they're doing.....I think.
Given recent events in the world I’m not sure the Trump administration knows what they are doing…
