2026 NDP Leadership Race & Pick

Yikes, this is already ugly.

I await word from Wab Kinew now.
Oh man I didn’t even think of Wab. Yeah, important moment for him depending on his ambitions.

EDIT TO ADD: Oh, apparently he’s already self identified as a Lewis supporter.

I guess I'm missing the point. Some 'equity card' has no value outside of the convention. Well, duh.

There was another clip where the convention chair was correcting a speaker for using the term 'Madame Chair' when it should be 'They Chair' or 'Them Chair'. There have been a few other that seem to show it was a bit of a freak show.

There was one where one person said that "she identified as a black woman", are we allowed to identify as different races now?

Wab has been talking about energy moving through the port in Churchill. I look forward to see how that squares with Mr Lewis' vision.
I'm guessing he doesn't particularly care about the position of a leader that will never hold power.

My guess is that he is just there to maintain connection to the national party in the event he wants to make a leadership run at a later date.

I suspect that Premier Kiniew might run as a federal liberal. Especially if he actually wants to either form or even lead a federal government.

I don't know, he seems to be doing a good job running Manitoba and is relevant there. He likely will have far more real impact than going federal, where the NDP is a bit of a hopeless mess.

Whereas Alberta and Saskatchewan, not so much.
