2026 US-Denmark Tensions/End of NATO

Correct ...
The dumbest thing you can do as a country is announce you’re trying to acquire nukes. Basically makes you a giant target for anyone who does not wish for you to have said capability.

This is the type of thing you do quietly then announce once compete. You won’t get invaded that way.

For the first time in my life, I am actually hoping that a politican is lying through his teeth.

I'm not convinced that Poland would sit on its hands.

I agree. But that would be outside of the European construct.

And I think that the majority of these like-minded nations would be similarly inclined. Not all, unfortunately.

This is the German position from the war game

"The inspector general of the German Armed Forces puts forward a proposal for immediate German support: the European Rapid Deployment Capacity, a European force of up to 5,000 troops. Berlin wants to position it around the Russian corridor — to prevent Kremlin forces from breaking out and seizing additional territory — and assumes command and operational planning.

....

It is the final decision the Blue Team makes in the war game. They’re out of time."

.....

Can you teach aggression to politicians?

Russia invades Lithuania to secure the corridor to Kaliningrad.

Europe complains.
Europe argues.
Europe debates.
Europe observes.
Europe isolates.
Europe contains.
Europet evacuates.

Russia holds.

Having read that article I'm left with the feeling to be honest of a bunch of 20 something year old's playing an extended version of Axis and Allies over beer and pizza.

Poland is mentioned only 12 times in the entire article - most of which are merely 'labels' and not anything of sustenance. The reality is that today, here and now, Poland has a much stronger, well defined and available armed forces than Germany does. Germany is decidedly back seat to Poland. A much better scenario would be them playing out how a joint Polish-German side would game this.

The Polish PM, Andrzej Duda has gone on record saying 'Polish troops would defend Lithuania, treating any aggression there as a threat to their own territory.'

One country's aspiration is another country's dread.

Some say that Poland has rigged the Suwalki corridor to BBIP*. Even if the U.S. orders V Corps to sit on its hands and do nothing, the Poles would pummel the living crap out of Vlad’s Lads, screaming “Katyń!!!”

* Blast Belarus in place…
