Why do I get the feeling there is a divide within air forces?
A divide between those tied to the existing force and those contemplating a new force?
The Collaborative Combat Aircraft, as I have noted before, is perceived as two separate vehicles. A 3 MUSD disposable (attritable) that may or may not require conventional airfields and a 30 MUSD craft that has undefined attributes but is priced at a level that makes it difficult to justify its sacrifice.

Currently that side of the argument is exemplified by the MQ-25 Stingray, the MQ-9 Reaper and the 30 MUSD CCA.
The other side is championed by the upstarts like Kratos and Anduril and those looking for immediate solutions, "semi"-autonomous combat platforms and those looking for lower cost versions of the Reaper, something that is more in keeping with Bayraktar costs.

The people engaged in employing those systems in Ukraine, Russia, Iran, The Gulf, Venezuela, the First Island Chain and charged with defending homelands are not looking for solutions in five years, or developing new problems and tactics a decade from now.
They want bullets in magazines today. Anything that will work. Anything that can be consumed in mass quantities.

This one is interesting.
The BAE Brontanax CCA/Loyal Wingman apparently sees Rolls Royce competing against Williams International. Rolls Royce builds long-service engines for jet aircraft. Williams is better known for building engines for cruise missiles, single trip engines.
....
Given the relative cost of the engine with respect to the total cost of the airframe and project the fact that BAE is pursuing the Williams route over the Rolls Royce route suggests to me that it is looking towards the 3 MUSD Kratos end of the spectrum rather than the 30 MUSD GA-ASI / Northrop end. That in term suggests a near term missile truck rather than an autonomous fighter.

I wouldn't be that pessimistic. CCA functionality is heavily dependent on sensor networking and AI. There's very little input from the pilot. The aircraft fly themselves. They self-manage tasks. Possibly even priorities. For all intents and purposes, this becomes a mini-swarm of autonomous aircraft with a human manager onboard the F-35 or in the rear (on an AEWC) simply providing some direction. There's even concepts for CCAs could be guided to ground targets by JTACs.
