This is to all the young (and older) people out there that are contemplating the military as a career path.  It could be a wise choice and shape your future.
To sign up for a six yr period will give you a decent pay, free training with your basic and trades training. (for the trades training it would be like a paid test drive for your interests).  Say you want to be a para medic or nurse, Go Med A and have transferable skills as well as a solid background and a renewed focus. Think of your finances, and your resume. PAID schooling.  If you like it stay if not you say good-bye and thanks and get a free ride home.
If you are around 20 this will give you some education, job experience and you are 6 years older and wiser. Maybe more worldly.  Valuble points in the civie job market.
Take some evening clases and get finacial assistance there. Pump up the resume more.
Not to mention the benefits for medical and dental.
I did my 20 and my military family is into a second generation.
Sure beats pounding the pavement and boredom at least for the first year.
Cheers

To avoid disappointment, it never hurts to check first.
Licensure of paramedics is the responsibility and domain of the various provincial regulatory bodies. Consult the provincial regulators for final decisions regarding practice.

Absolutely, you would still have to do some provincial formal education. But you would have valuble insight and experience and it would pay off. Hopefully you get an assessment from the college and they evaluate your prior transferable skills.

The CF offers a young person a great way of life and many career options. I don't speak from experience, but family members have told me so.
I especially like hearing it from retired career members such as yourslf who can look back and give an honest opinion. Congratulations on a well earned retirement.
Hopefully, in the near future, EMS skills will be more easily transferable. I only started looking into the subject recently. This is from last month:
