Able Seamen

Just was curious on how long it takes to move from ordinairy seamen to able seamen, and how do you move up ranks faster?

Special entrance programs aside, it takes:

30 months service to be promoted to AB/Pte(T)
48 months service to be promoted to LS/Cpl

You can be accelerated promoted to LS/Cpl, but no earlier than 36 months service, and only to deserving personnel who demonstrate the highest level of drive.  Your chain of command nominates you, the CO may grant it if you're worthy.

Yeah, Im going to St. Jean Quebec. I guess if you start a week later we wouldnt be in the same platoon?
