100-km Chinese traffic jam enters day nine

It's a startling example of China's growing traffic problems: A 100-km long traffic jam on a major highway leading into Beijing is now entered its ninth day with no relief in sight.

.....

Reportedly, this is not the first jam-up along the thoroughfare, with prolonged traffic snarls in June and July lasting nearly a month.

;D

Apparently it's due to construction heading into Beijing.  They are looking at it being cleared up mid-September when the job is done.  There is a real growth industry developing with people on bicycles selling food and water.

I stubbed my toe today and it set me back about 30 seconds.  And I thought that was bad!

Well, if the old adage is true, then the Chinese have nothing to worry about.  You know the one: apparently there are so many people in China, that if they lined up and fell off a cliff, they would never die off, because it would take so long, they would continue to reproduce.  I mean, what else are you going to do in a traffic jam?  ;D

Remind me to never, ever, ever go on a road trip with you.

Ever.

I'd hate to be the little brother in the backseat if there was a VW bug in sight.
