Annual Leave Confusion

ArmyVern said:
True.

It costs us 6 days annual here for the Christmas / New Years period ... on TOP of those 4 short (2 for Dec/2 for Jan - [if auth by the Comd]), 3 Stat, couple of "special" days and the weekends.

We know to keep 6 days of annual ... if we want the entire period off. And we know that the short is not a "given" until we see it in writing. And, we know that if we don't get those short --- then it's costing us even more annual to get the entire period off.

Exactly!

Be thankfull you get the shorts at Christmas  Here at CFNES we do not get them and have not gotten them for at least 4 years I can remember

It is actually a common thing in MARLANT.  Our previous CO did not give shorts out; explaination given was "we get sliders every Friday afternoon, that makes up 2 shorts a month".

The only problem was..we don't get sliders alot in my subunit.  :P

your subunit IC or OC should bring up that point to the CO
