I applied to join the CF in the regular force as a Combat Engineer and I'm still waiting for my phone call. I finished all the paperwork and tests before the summer and over the course of the summer they finished all of the paperwork at the recruiting office and last time I called the recruiters said I should be getting "the call" sometime in mid-September. I just can't wait to leave for basic. I'm not even 18 yet and I just want to get on with my life, everyday I wait feels like an eternity. I have a friend who just got back from basic too, he is in the reserves. The recruiter "hinted" that I will be getting in for sure but he wouldn't say anything else except that I should just sit back and wait for that call.

Is their anyone else out there who is PATIENTLY waiting to get accepted?

As for patiently waiting, I'm still waiting for my interview call :\ it has been about 2 weeks now, no call. I passed everything with flying colors the Officer at theRC said, I just don't see what the problem is. Oh well, just got to wait.

Good luck with your interview, just don't wear shorts and a T-shirt to your interview like I did. Try and dress casual but neat.

GED = Good Enough Diploma
haha, a little Chris Rock humour.

Anyway, a GED is a general equivalence diploma. If you've been out of school and don't want to go back and do all the grades, you can take a test that sumarises all 4 years into one test.

Hey Daryl, I am also trying to join the reg force as a combat engineer. I stopped in at the recruiting office last night (Wednesday the 8th) and they told me that the selection commitee for combat engineers will meet on the 15th of September, and they should finish phoning everybody that is selected by monday the 20th. So, only 11 more days to wait and then you should know. If they don't phone me by monday I'll be phoning them to check up on things... I am patiently waiting but it's not easy, I can't wait to get started... anyways, good luck!
