Anybody online sell raw materials for LBE?

Just what the title says.

I find sewing and messing with LBE relaxing. I like the american ALICE mag pouch clips, as found on our 2 qt canteen pouch and also the ALICE/ILCE Web belt buckle. I'd love to find a place online that sells this kind of stuff; buckles and mag pouch clips and whatnot, but I just keep finding a lot of people hocking nylon fabric material, which I can easily salvage.

Any other tinkerers got hints for this one?

Thanks

Shrek.

Ebay, except for the actual ALICE rucks, the LBE craps goes real cheap.  I seen a complete LBE for 10 bucks a few days ago.

So, cut and salvage is the way to go? Bummer. it's easy to get normal fastex-style clips and buckles online, but I've never found the ALICE/ILCE stuff.

Try contacting some surplus stores in the US,  they may have just the buckles.

The ALICE clips are easy to find in lots of 50s and 100s, as are the steel pouch buckles for the ALICE rucks.  The plastic pouch buckles are harder to find.  But honestly as an equipment fastening system the LBE is very old.

Could you point me in the right direction for those, FraserDW?

Ebay, type in ALICE Clip or ALICE Equipment or ALICE Load bearing.

Here ya go:

Thanks FraserDW, but those are slide-keepers. I am looking for the web-belt clips and ILCE/M1968 Magazine pouch clips.

I am confused then because the USGI official term for the things you call "slide keepers" is "web belt clip".  Are you looing for the older USGI web belt keeper that locks into the belt by sliding through the holes?

The clips used to attach pouches to the webbing belt essentially are the exact same.  ALICE, M56, M1968 all the same clip.

Shrek,  I take it by your last post you aren't looking for the clips that attach pouches to the webbing belt,  but the flap closure on the pouch?  Instead of trying to find these hard to find items,  why not use Fastex clips.  They come in different sizes and are very easy to find, and you can buy in large quantities.  Would work for pouches as well as a belt buckle.

Oh, bummer. I didn't know they were hard to come by, I just figured i was looking in the wrong places. My local camping shop sells fastex clips, I just like the MLCE/ALICE one's a lot better, find them much easier to use one-handed especially.

Try the surface mounted Fastex buckles, one handed open and close then ;)

Very useful and they come in different colors.

Those look like they'd just drop in with hardly any work at all too...I like that. And they look sturdier than the snap-in system we have on the Tac Vest too.

Shrek my son, check out 'Sarges Army Surplus' website.  They are in Peterborough, if you don't see Alice clips, malice clips etc send them an e mail and the Sarge and his crew will help you out.
