i just have a small question. i was filling out my application today and i was looking over the part were it talks about the minimum requirements that you have to be to complete(push-ups, sit-ups, step test). i was just wondering if i had to be able to complete the minimum requirements before i hand in my application or before i leave for basic?

lol...

You need to be able to meet the basic requirements before you go to basic training... they will test you on this, just like they test you on the CFAT...

If you can‘t meet the basic requirements now, get working at it!!

and Good luck!

Justin,

On your application they make you sign a thing saying you can meet all the requirements already- it asks you how many pushups and situps you can do, and how fast you can run 2.4K. I don‘t know if they‘d give you appointments if you didn‘t meet the requirements at that point.

Now, there is a possibility of fudging the numbers at this point, if one wanted to get the process started (of course I‘m not advocating that at all). However, as Tyrnagog says they will test you to see if you actually can do all that stuff before you go to Basic, and you have to pass.

Even if you can do it now, go and do push-ups, sit-ups and go run. Try and reach 30 push-ups, and do as many sits in one minute as possible, also run once or twice a day atleast(if you are going around a track) 6-8 times. Make sure you stretch your muscles before and after also. Good Luck, and don‘t smoke.
