Wikipedia... the vast credible site that it is, is proposing to delete the Army.ca page.

For anyone curious on why you can click this link  http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Army.ca&action=history

A member of Wikipedia says that the army.ca page doesn't have the credibility to continue.  Thus, in stead of
bashing said member of Wikipedia into submission, we need to actually post some credible information on Army.ca.

The timing of the deletion of the Army.ca wiki page, however, seems to be very coincidental to other acts that have
recently taken place on our own site.  Without revisiting those events, you can visit the above link and see who/why
is erasing the Wiki page and make decisions for yourself.

This post is not intended to bash people but that we may be aware and take action if you support keeping the army.ca page.

It's definitely a matter of timing. Technically, Army.ca does not meet the Wikipedia requirements laid out for being "notable" and therefore needs to be removed according to their own rules.

As pointed out however, this was a non-issue until very recently.

Well, I looked at the history of that page and it was created by CalgaryTanks.  I am sure that CalgaryTanks can confirm or deny whether or not a BANNED Member (From this site) had a hand in having/helping him create the page.  If you check the records, it was a Banned Member who has been constantly upgrading and improving it.  So now, in fact he is admitting that he is 'incompetent'.  Rather hilarious really.

So really technically Army.ca needs to have a media interview of note to be considered worth keeping, am I reading that right?

If so I'm sure it could be accomplished...well that is if we want to.

Seems a rather low road to take on this subject.

If this thread seems low it is quite possibly because the action that
required this thread to be created was as equally low.

Realistically why do we need to be in Wikipedia? It sucks that we might be removed but will it hurt us in the long run? Nope not at all. We are growing leaps and bounds folks as we were before we got listed. If we get removed thats is their loss not ours.

Actually.....to clear up any misconceptions....It is only the Army.ca page on the Wikipedia site that is being recommended for deletion by a small, petty and vindictive person.  He is admitting his shortcomings by doing so, but that is his prerogative.  Army.ca will still remain a site that we can all enjoy.  Perhaps the reason we are gaining so many foreign members may be as a result of his pettiness.  Who knows?  It could be a few days of free advertising courtesy of a person who only goes on to discredit himself more.

Soon the 'constable' will be standing by the Wikipedia site and saying "Move along....Nothing to see here."

Wikipedia is a free open site.  If anyone wants to post info there, following their rules, etc. they can.  I would just hope that petty people, who hold grudges, would not interfer with their contributions.

As it is, this should have little effect on this site.

Ummm... yeah, little bit of confusion.  My statement was in reference to Dorosh taking the low road.  I need to start typing more, or expanding upon my words more or... *walks off mumbling to self*

I agree, I just dislike the concept of losing a fight, even one so small as this.

Will it change around here if the Wikipedia entry is removed, I would say not one wit. I also say that losing something that's is Mike and well all of ours over the actions of a disgruntled person makes me less then happy and gets that instinctive defensive nature all boiling inside.

No one likes to lose but is this a fight even worth fighting? Nah...not even worth the efoort, let this person have his victory, it will only underline the fact to his supporters here on how petty this man was and how we are better off without him. I was sad we lost him but after him showing this side of his persona I feel we never got rid of him fast enough.

lol...

No worries..  at least your post allowed me to have some fun!

This is an action that we can afford to ignore.  It won't affect the outcome of the war one iota.  It isn't even a skirmish in the war but a side action that would be nice to have but is really inconsequential.

;D I did not even know we had an Army.ca page on Wikipedia ....sheesh...go figure, I'm in the company of (mumblemumble)  ;D

It wasn't an interview, but army.ca was on the news a bit ago.

There is no reason Army.ca can't get listed in Wikipedia again at some future date, and Army.ca exists in enough blog sidebars that the people who want to find us, will.

If you google anything military related, you get links to army.ca threads too.

We just need to get more people to subscribe and wear their swag all over the place.

psst, techie, I posted that link in reply #14

I  am not that great technical wise but I have fired a shot:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Army.ca#.5B.5Barmy.ca.5D.5D  any help would be appreciated.
