The Arctic

If you ever get a chance to drive the E6 in Norway, which covers a couple of thousand miles of similar coastal terrain, you will be endlessly amazed at how wonderful it all is, including some of the longest tunnels (through mountain ranges) in the world.


I doubt we would ever reach the consensus required to build such an engineering marvel, let alone agree to pay what it would all cost of course.
I suspect this is what is driving the masturbatory fantasy mentioned previously, it's audacious and pushing the boundaries of what engineers can achieve. Ours would be highly expensive and would not generate a return on investment for a very, very long time. Just drive the northern roads of our provinces and the challenge becomes clear.

On the plus side 15th fd and 5 Battery would be fully tasked to provide avalanche control for it.
