Things must be going deep if the CO was removed, indicates a lack of confidence to lead the regiment. Makes me wonder if senior officers were involvedAnd the first head to roll.

Ottawa army unit head removed as part of social media misconduct probe
OTTAWA — The head of an Ottawa-based Canadian Army regiment has been temporarily removed as part of an investigation into alleged online behaviour that the commander of the army says disgraced the military.www.orilliamatters.com
Alternatively the CO will be held accountable even if they knew nothing just to make a point.Things must be going deep if the CO was removed, indicates a lack of confidence to lead the regiment. Makes me wonder if senior officers were involved
This is the way - probably. If the CO did not know - well that can be the hazards of command.Alternatively the CO will be held accountable even if they knew nothing just to make a point.
To me this is a show of force that the CAF will not accept this behaviour and a public ‘execution’ to show they are doing something.
Always in charge of the ship, and therefore responsible, whether or not you knew what was going on the ship. This is the way - probably. If the CO did not know - well that can be the hazards of command.

Quite correct especially if the CO and RSM were originally Highlanders. You would think they would have known.Given the entire junior ranks was involved, and that it’s been in existence for over a decade, the idea that an officer with 15 plus years at unit isn’t going to help their case for continuing to be in command. Their RSM, or one of the CSM for sure was aware - it’d be next to impossible that they didn’t.
If anyone doesn’t think this is indicative of a wider issue I recommend you check out the corporal news network’s recent posts of three members and see the vitriol and hate from people. Even ones with their profiles filled with pictures of them in uniform.
I had been thinking the same thing. Seems like the CCA was unhappy with the UDI and it's results.I believe in earlier reports, the MPs said they had received complaints about this and referred it back to the units... my mind immediately went to wondering what the unit command did, and how many of them swept it under the rug. Perhaps that's also what the CCA wanted to know....
I'm curious about how the MPs thought a unit could subpoena records from Meta for an investigation.I believe in earlier reports, the MPs said they had received complaints about this and referred it back to the units... my mind immediately went to wondering what the unit command did, and how many of them swept it under the rug. The "U" in MP stands for useful.I'm curious about how the MPs thought a unit could subpoena records from Meta for an investigation.

If you are considering disciplinary action, knowing who was brought in when, what degree of interaction they had and other metrics ties to a hidden group would presumably be a sine qua non.Not sure you need to subpoena records from Meta to get publicly available information such as posts in the group, posts of the profile, etc... much of which could be provided to them by who complained, and certainly more could be obtained without a lot of ingenuity required.....
