On Monday, the French trainmaker said it has signed an agreement to acquire Bombardier's rail business for between €5.8 billion ($6.3 billion) and €6.2 billion ($6.7 billion).

Don't be ridiculous!  Their next move will be to sell the business jet division, and focus on their government handouts division exclusively.

That is 4-6 airframes, tops. Not a business model.

They should push the business jet angle for the short term Maybe something eco friendly or a jet rental biz to the wealthy.

sure it is.  Sell 6 then ask for more money to develop an SST or better yet, an all electric executive aircraft.  Should be good for another 100 milllion or so.

Airbus bought a 50.1% stake in the C-Series.  Is that still the situation?

If so, Bombardier still "kinda" has a commercial aircraft on the go, even if it's being manufactured by Airbus.  Anybody know how that works, or applies currently?
