Hey guys..

A couple months ago I had by hardest round kicked blocked by a very hard, sharp edged object (long story), and left with a very shore shin bone. A month later that bruise had turned into a hard lump of bone or tissue (about the size of a quarter)  in the middle of my shin.

I was out of training at the time and my shins were quite soft.  Ive just began training again and now,  I cant even kick the heavybag(on that spot) without wanting to keel over in splintering pain. Ive tuffed out 3 workouts on the bag, and it sort of feels that its getting softer.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Should I train harder on it for it to go away? or should i rest it for another month or two?

Steve,

See a Doctor, no one here is a doctor and few people would even hazard a guess as to what advice to give.

Only adive you should recieve from here is SEE A DOCTOR!

that is all

haha.. dangit!

I hate waiting in the dam line to see a doctor. I was just hoping that someone with similar combat training experience might have suffered through the same.

Thanks though, maybe i'll just do that.

I had a simliar injury, though it didn't bother me quite so long.  I saw a doctor.  I could tell you what he did for me, but since you probably don't have xray eqpt in your basement (or xray vision), you wouldn't be able to do one of the first procedures he ordered.

Hi Steve,

If you want the advice of somebody with a lot of training, I have 20 years in the martial arts, 7 years as a self defense instructor.  Many years ago, I had my left knee and hip damaged by a nasty round kick and side kick.  I went to see a doctor.  He suggested I take it easy for a couple of months, and go to see a physiotherapist.  I didn't go to see a physiotherapist, I took it easy for perhaps three days and then said to heck with this and started training hard again.  I had problems with my left knee and hip for years that eventually required years of physiotherapy to correct fully.

Advice:  Go see a doctor AND follow their advice.
