In case anyone is interested, our commitment to Bosnia now comes under the operational name "Op BARRACUDA".  Op PALLADIUM is closing out.

BARACUDA is a much reduced CF presence in Bosnia.  Hopefully it will be soon followed by a total withdrawal from the place.

I heard they are now sending reservists for 3 to 6 months to take down the camp.
Anyone heard of it?

I heard something about the reserves doing a bit of a draw down but I don't know which camps they're closing. I spent most of my time in TSG well before it closed. I guess that was the first step.

Apparently theres only one tour left, and its a 3 month one starting in Sept, a few people from my unit are going on it.

They probably just changed the name so that they woundn't get the tax break.

I gave the forum some bad information...Op PALLADIUM is not Op BARACUDA but is Op BRONZE.  Tax break still in existence.

Its my understanding that a simple name change won't negate a tax break but the threat level.

At the HA that Afganistan is at, the Tax break is automatic. However, the moderate risk operations such as Op Palladium, are on a case by case basis. The tax break is comfirmed for Palladium, but since this "new" Op Bronze I'm not sure if it is continued. However, Gunner is saying it is , so good news for those guys in MNTF(NW)
