Would you be able to show a picture of what it does or something?  That sounds like a very cool piece of machinery.

And I noticed that it was constructed with <GASP> off the shelf technology!  Oh my God, does that mean that it didn't take 10 years of trials and other procedures to actually aquire this machine?  A Miracle, indeed!!!!!!

(Wow, you wouldn't think that a newby like me would be disillusioned so quickly, would you?)

Great idea.  And pretty simple concept.  It looks like it takes a lot of the guesswork out of measuring folks, and while it is at it, also removes any possibility of male / female 'interaction' complaints.

ive had to kit out a few females and a very small percentage are very uptight about thier chest size, us guys on the other hand have the mentality as long as it fits. The females would be like i dont know my chest size, i would rather you not put my size in the computer, all the way to im going to tell your supervisor because your asking me about my chest and waist side..... some of the excuses, ive also had the other side where the customer has come in with the measurements in hand apparently measured him/herself at home so that i would nt have to ask, some of the fun at clothing stores.....

Yeah tell me about it.  I used to be the SupO at my Cadet unit.  Any time I had a female (or male for that matter!!!) in to get measured, I would always ask them if they were comfortable with me taking measurements, then I would measure from the back (chest) or side (hips), and have them adjust it to the 'fullest' part if the measurement.

Of course, even if they were totally comfortable with me doing the measuring, I would always do it in full view of at least one other cadet of each sex, usually outside my office, on the parade square.  If they were not comfortable with my doing the measuring, then I would call in either a female staff, or a senior female cadet to do the actual measuring.

One female cadet was actually not comfortable with anyone doing the measuring, so I sent her home with a tape, and detailed instructions to get her mom to do it for us!!!!!!!!!

Man, I wish we had these machines.  I really envy you.
