Well after a year of deciding what to do with the money I made selling off my business, I purchased a brand new 2005 Mini Classic.
This is my first real car that I own, didn't buy it from family so it's fairly significant.
Haven't had a picture with it yet but here is basically the exact same colour I got. They're somewhat rare apparently, and I had to have my colour so that means it won't be here for a bit.
Surprisingly expensive little things but I took 2 test drives and I was hooked, absolutely hooked.

Isn't that the same car Mr. Bean drove??  ;)

Really though, congrats on your first car.  Lucky you to start with brand new.

I had one of the originals made by Austin while in Germany during the 70's. Fantastic little car. Nothing like doing 125kph with your ass 8 inches off the ground  ;D

Haha, my father did too and when I told him I bought an Austin Mini that's what he thought I had bought and didn't think anything more of it.
Then he drove by the BMW dealership today and had a heart attack when he realised that's who designs the new ones.

She does a little more than 125 too,
Got it up to 200 tonight, I was nearly in tears it was a thing of beauty. :o

If i had the money, i would pick up a Cooper S. They are nuts, the stock suspension, enginge and drive train in them are superb.

Well with a 1000 cc engine (hell my Harley was almost 1400cc) that was almost tapping it out.

Oh yeah, and you probably paid a little more than the $3000.00 mine cost new too ;)

A weee bit more than that, just a weeeee bit.  :'(

As for the Cooper S...if had that kind of money to toss about I wouldn't have gotten a mini at all. haha

A guy i scuba dove with a few times this summer has one. He took me for a ride in it, it was ridiculous. Fast, amazing handling, and it looks bad ass.

I wonder if anyone ever described the old mini as Bad Ass.

With those 10 inch wheels and the holes in the floor to stick your feet through and run with, a la flintstones. ;D

Is is SCUDA Dove or SCUBA Dived? :) I used to dive when I was in university. I never did know whether it was dove or dived.

Che, this isn't the car I envisioned you driving. But I guess that it will suit you when you go to the Big Smoke.

Ah yes.  I remember my first car.  A 1958 Oldsmobile Super 88, with the rocket engine.  Sigh

Che, why wouldn't you follow through with Old Guy's Idea of the car you should have??

How much was the final total? I may be in the market for a new car. Right now I am driving my dad's accent, which is about the same size, buy not near as well built, or powerful, comfortable, etc. (I can go on forever)

Okay well I'll precede this by stating I'm not gloating or anything, just answering. I know it's a social faux-pas to discuss expenditures over a certain amount, but there are worse things I suppose.

The car came to roughly 27,000 after taxes etc.
Problem is with me it was not about the cost at all, I took one test drive and decided I had enough of doing what made sense and did something that was totally...totally unsensible. ;D
I'm a bit of anomaly as far as most 21 year olds go as I just recently sold off a business that was doing very well after working extremely hard at it for many years so I also thought if there was any reward for that work this should be it....admittingly for that much I probably could have secured financial future for school etc. but that's exactly what my parents would have done.

Yes folks, Che had his quarter-life-crisis.

lol, quater life crisis, you can blame any thing at any time on a mid life crisis, with the explaination that you dont know how long you will live.......aweseom thought....

drive'er like ya stole'er........just don't get caught.your insurence might go up jus a wee bit.i bought my first car in 90,69 olds 442,mint.it only cost 6 months in cyprus, not a bad deal eh byes.i put perssonal plates on it,bad coy, civves would always ask what coy meant.hahaha...dumb civves :fifty:
