Blair is the political equivalent of the loyal but not too bright captain that you can trust to toe the party line no matter how bad it is.
I’m not picking on captains but you could insert Corporal etc in that statement

A key change is that Defence Minister Anita Anand is moving away from her high-profile job to Treasury Board, a lower-profile portfolio that generally affords less travel and press coverage.

Anand is generally recognized as having succeeded in her role in the complex role that is Canada’s defense minister, namely during Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

She is also seen as a contender to eventually replace Trudeau as Liberal Party leader. Radio-Canada reported last month that she was called in by PMO because they found her leadership campaigning had become too visible.

But how visible is too visible? I had no sense she was making a run for the money.

He was ineffective in public safety- holding his party’s politics even where he knows it’s wrong and ineffective- in my opinion of course.

I also have a personal connection to his time in Toronto Police Service that colours my opinion.
