Final FORCE Test Confirmation Email: Early January 2025

Questions:
(Please correct me if any of my comments below our incorrect)

(1) How long did it take between medical/background clearance and enrolment for you as a Reserve officer? I understand billet approval happens at the Brigade/Unit level, but I would like to hear how long that usually takes.
(2) Is it common for Reserve officers to attend full-time BMOQ at CFLRS during the summer (e.g., L0032E or L0033E)? I know CFLRS is primarily Regular Force, but I’ve heard that Reserves sometimes get attached for summer intakes.
(3) If I don’t get selected for summer BMOQ, is the weekend BMQ → Phase II → CAP path still the standard for DEO Armour officers?
(4) Has anyone here received an offer in July for an August BMOQ intake? Just trying to gauge if I’m still in the window for summer 2025.
(5) Should I be taking any additional steps to get unit-level endorsement? Would showing up on a parade night be helpful, or is this too forward?

1. There is no standard answer here. It all depends on your personal medical history and how easy it is to get ahold of your references.
2. I personally haven't seen any attend full time BMOQ at CFLRS. Every reserve officer I know, including myself, did PRes BMQ, either part time during the winter or full time in the summer, followed by a 1 or 2 week BMOQ pt 2, that is full time.
3. Yes. Your courses will be BMQ -> BMOQ pt 2 -> BMOQ-A -> Armour Officer
4. You are likely too late for a summer full time BMQ. Those courses start in May and June in order to allow candidates to go right on to trades training later in the summer. You will most likely be on a winter BMQ serial.
5. No. If the regiment wants to personally vet you, they will contact you. Although I don't think this is actually done anymore, as recruiting is a brigade, not a regimental function.

RE Q1: I have already been cleared of medical and background checks as of mid-May. Do you have an idea as to how long it takes to be enrolled once cleared for Reserves DEO? Or does your answer remain the same (no standard answer)?

RE Q2: Would the part-time be 10 weekends, or is there an option to do it Mon-Fri full time?

RE Q4: What is the timeframe for winter BMQ serial?

For question 2 no it is not common. Brigades offer full time summer BMOQ in their areas, so no need to do a Reg F BMOQ. Also reserves do BMOQ a bit differently, in that typically you will do BMQ with a large group of people and then they will have a smaller 1-2 BMOQ supplement, which has the officer parts. There are many many admin things in a Reg F BMOQ that won't apply to reserves, like PSHCP for example. So there is no point to send you to CFLRS and have you sit in on a bunch of classes that won't apply to you unless you become Reg F.
