I am hopeful this leads to C59 getting repealed. What a garbage piece of legislation that is.
Aaaand he’s tantrumping again.
Announced years ago. If his staff just learned it now, they're not very good.Aaaand he’s tantruming again.
This: "An Act to implement certain provisions of the fall economic statement tabled in Parliament on November 21, 2023 and certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 28, 2023"?I am hopeful this leads to C59 getting repealed. What a garbage piece of legislation that is.
That's the one. The digital media tax is censorship by other means. Bill should be amended and that should be removed. This: "An Act to implement certain provisions of the fall economic statement tabled in Parliament on November 21, 2023 and certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 28, 2023"?

Or this act pulled? That's the one. The digital media tax is censorship by other means. Bill should be amended and that should be removed.
It’s a shit bill. Seems like a short sighted tax grab from my POV.Or this act pulled?
Since other media pay taxes on revenue they collect from advertising, hard to tell those media, "but we'll let Big Online from outside the country do it tax free." I'm not sure a tax exemption to foreign companies making money in Canada would be an easy sell.

I suspect it’s cover for the annoyance at the ReArm Europe thing instead of buying stuff here.Announced years ago. If his staff just learned it now, they're not very good.
Bingo.I suspect it’s cover for the annoyance at the ReArm Europe thing instead of buying stuff here.
Which to be fair 47 has gone out of his way to make everyone leery of buying US kit, so it’s an own goal at this point.Bingo.
When in doubt with POTUS47, I assume it's not tactical concealment, but rather "surrounded by imbeciles who learn things long after it's revealed".I suspect it’s cover for the annoyance at the ReArm Europe thing instead of buying stuff here.
Throw in rage bait for the base…When in doubt with POTUS47, I assume it's not tactical concealment, but rather "surrounded by imbeciles who learn things long after it's revealed".
He's good at that.Which to be fair 47 has gone out of his way to make everyone leery of buying US kit, so it’s an own goal at this point.
I am positive the man has dementia. When in doubt with POTUS47, I assume it's not tactical concealment, but rather "surrounded by imbeciles who learn things long after it's revealed".
Being challenged on it is fine. Packing up your toys and leaving the sandbox over it? Not buying it. There is more at play.I don't even understand how people somehow think it's a bad thing that our Govt is getting challenged on C59?
Not quite. Just bad faith. They only found out about this now? right…So far, the entire argument presented is "TrUmP BaD"
For the record, my comment was completely separate from my views on C-59.I don't even understand how people somehow think it's a bad thing that our Govt is getting challenged on C59?
So far, the entire argument presented is "TrUmP BaD"
I think it's hilarious that our Govt is getting taken to task by a foreign Govt over this stuff.

One man's "short sighted tax grab" is another's "ending someone's tax holiday that nobody else gets."It’s a shit bill. Seems like a short sighted tax grab from my POV.
