CAN-USA Tariff Strife (split from various pol threads)

The LCBO is the largest liquor purchaser in the world. If the LCBO stops buying American products it will be noticed, and will create problems in America.

The average bourbon drinker drinks JD because it's cheap and available... How many years of JD being more expensive than 40 Creek does it take to shift consumer interest?
I know not a single bourbon drinker who would voluntarily choose JD, partly because it's not technically bourbon, but mostly because it sucks.

I know a ton of people to drink Jack and Coke.

Myself, my beer fridge is all Miller Lite and Coors Original. With the NSLC following suite I guess I'm going back to Toller Gold and Alpine.

For hard liquor I drink the moonshine I get from Lequille.

I didn't say no one drank it, just that anyone who says "bourbon" when asked "what's your favourite alcohol?" does not (because those would bourbon drinkers).

Bourbon vs Tennessee Whiskey. A lot of their liquor laws are more internally protected than ours.

Now that's good stuff (a friend lives in The Valley). I prefer the Night Owl Coffee.

Have you tried Caldera Whiskey from River John ?

I always have 2 bottles of their Strawberry Rhubarb. That with a couple ice cubes is heaven in a glass.
Ah. I see they have expanded their line since last I was down. That sounds quite 'summer-y'. I'd have to have it shipped since long distance travel is no longer in the cards. Hmmm.

True, but they’ve managed to occupy dozens and dozens of entire suburban communities, which in turn has facilitated expansion of PLA holdings of enormous agricultural lands, mineral rights, a few northern airports, a couple of port adjacent commercial developments.
You can just say you don't like Chinese immigrants lol.

We have a little distillery outside of Ottawa in Perth.

The maple or butter tart stuff is like crack.

Topshelf distillery. Totally worth it. Discovered them during the pandemic of all things when they converted to making hand sanitizer when there was a shortage at the beginning. They got a lot of exposure during that time. At the time they were really only making gin. But have expanded quite a bit now.

Dunrobin Distillery in western Ottawa makes an Earl Grey tea gin, perfect for breakfast.

I normally buy a bottle of their whiskey every so often at the farmer’s market over the summer. They have a stall there.
