I am look for methods to locate information on pers who served with the CEF. Little or no informationis attainable using the Freedom of Ingormation Act.
If can one out there can suggest methods they would be greatly appreciated. My sister and I are attempting to trace our family‘s mil history. We are looking for information ref a William Rutt.

Try the National Archives website at:
http://www.archives.ca/www/svcs/english/PersonnelRecords.html

You will have to supply some information in order to do a detailed search, but if this is a problem, you can contact the Archives by email and request assistance. They are quite good at responding to queries.

To obtain information re CEF personel you must have the persons Regimental Number. Our organization has had very good resuls using the Freedom of Information Act.
