as usual the subject of an underfunded understrength military is the topic of the day! To be effective in the roles undertaken politically, would require the CA(R) to upsize to about 250,000 reg. the same kind of relative numbers for the other branches. The country has enough officers for such a force, were they inteligently utilized as officers not consultants etc. There are dozens of ways to make it econoimically feasable, but there is no political will to do so. Politicians in this country for the last 40 years and for the near future are intent on fazing out Canada (not just the military) and selling out what assets are left. A recent book by a chap named Menzies titled 1421 shows just what politicians and civil servants can do, to even the most advanced civilization the world has ever known. Read it! think back to the achievements of Canadians over the three wars etc of the last 100 years and weep! The Chinese had covered the world! with culture, agriculture, animal husbandry and so many other things it is impossible to mention, the whole thing destroyed and removed from history by civil servants and politicians. So much so that that which we call history, Columbus etc. is revealed as a bad joke. No forget anything about honour or country because these civil servants and politicians have another very different agenda!

tmbluesbflat - I‘m trying to follow your argument and I‘m uncertain as to what your point is. Is it that politicians are intent on carving up the country for sale and then rewritting history as was done to China in the past? Is it that civil servants and politicians retain no honour? Do you want to see our Reg Force increased to 250,000? CA(R) = Canadian Army Regular Force or Canadian Airborne, do you want to see the revival of the CAR to 250,000? Why does reflecting on the past 100 years and the three wars (WW1/2 & Korea?) bring about sadness and weeping? For what exactly? Not building the Avro Arrow? Downsizing our military after the end of WW2? Retiring the HMCS Bonaventure? Not expanding upon a "Canadian" space program? The failure of the Bricklin? What part of European history do you have an issue with? That North America was populated when Columbus arrived? That the Norse had already established unsuccessful settlements along the eastern seaboard 500yrs prior? What is the bad joke? I‘m unfamiliar with the book you referenced and I have too much to read already, could you maybe narrate the "Coles Notes" version?

Just trying to see where you‘re coming from and where you‘re going with this line of thought.

They sure do, you should see them running around the shacks on a Saturday night

I just read the topic and I‘m still scratching my head. I‘ll read it one more time... nope, nothing clicked.

So tmbluebflat... I see from your post that you are trying to make a point so I‘ll give you the bennefit of the doubt. Care to make your statement a bit clearer?

Regards

With the army at the size it is now i‘ve came across a lot of dummies. Some of the stuff I and likely others here have seen is just shocking. Given that number now, if we increase our numbers to 250‘000, it‘s going to increase the number of plugs we have too. Scarry thought. IF we do increase maybe we should do it very selectivly.

I‘m with Franko on this please elaborate.

Otherwise this thread is going to consist of Infanteer and Old School comparing notes on love or lust in the shacks and it‘s too early in the day for that.

I‘m with Danjanou... i‘m at a total lost..

and please! elaborate!!! i don‘t want to hear how scarlino can Bench 210 fat ladies!!!

We‘re not supposed to discuss this, but... The UN is, as we speak, mobilizing a large offensive army, with the intent of invading North America... They want to take over, man !!!
I read this from an intel report published by the Militia of Montana, so it must be true...

Why are you people having such a hard time understanding what tmbluesbflat is saying? Pretty clear to me. Perhaps if tmbluesbflat would acquiesce as requested by others and elaborate a little more (especially on just what the book, 1421, is about) his statements will be made much clearer. Don‘t get me wrong, I agree that his "argument" is a bit confusing, but that doesn‘t mean a reader cannot get the meaning of it.

The only thing on their agendas is dying in the near future because the majority are nothing but geriatric twits. IMHO.
