Evening all,

I am looking for a flag from the Cape Breton Highlander's such as the two below. I have contacted the regiment's museum and they do not keep these in their kitshop. The flag is a present for my father-in-law as his dad was a member of the unit during WWII. He has a dock with a flagpole at the end where one of these would look great. I think it would be a really great gift. I am willing to pay....and have been looking online for a place that could reproduce even the tactical flag without the crest on it.

Does anyone know of such a place in Canada or otherwise who could do this and make a good quality reproduction?

look in your local yellow pages for a place that does Cdn flags - could be one option.
look in your local yellow pages for a place that does banners, penants & the like or ask the CB Highlanders where they had theirs made up.

Be warned that this will be an expensive proposition.  It will cost over $100 just to get a template made, and then probably in the range of $75 per flag you get afterwards.  With shipping costs, you may be looking at approx $200, or more.

George, the diagonal one with the simple 62 in the corner shouldn't be too much of a problem.

With respect to the one with the badge, it would really, really help if the CBH have their hands on the screens.

I don't know of any 2 NSH soldiers or officers on this forum, but I do happen to have a MCpl from them that works for me...

Bad news?  He is taking his wife to the hospital tomorrow, they are having their 2nd kiddo.

When I do talk to him, I show him this thread and see if he can help at all...he knows them all in the Battalion.

Thanks for the replys guys. $200.00 is well within what I am willing to pay to get this done. I just want a quality job and not something that looks like it came out of Walmart.

Another question what Reg force regiment of today would the Cape Breton Highlanders be associatted with if any? The reason I ask is that I was flipping through some old photo albums and saw my wife's grandfather wearing an light blue RCR cap in a lot of the pictures.

Similiar to this one

on the RCR kitshop website with VRI cypher on it.

Cape Breton highlanders were pretty tight with the reg force Black Watch.  BW used to be in Aldershot NS .... and Gagetown NB.  Given that the BW were reduced to nil strength and it's personnel rolled into the RCR, that blue cap is just a small sign linking the present day to the past.

IMHO
